Race to 100 ODI wickets

Just looking at the Zimbabwe ODI wicket takers list and we might have a few guys pass the milestone of 100 ODI wickets in the next year or so .....

We only have 4 players so far who have past the mark, those being Streak, Utseya, Grant Flower & Price ......

The 3 guys in contention are -

Graeme Cremer on 84 wickets

Chris Mpofu on 85 wickets

Elton Chigumbura 95 wickets ( 98 if you include his wickets for Africa )

Obviously Elton is closest to the milestone but he currently isn't bowling and is out of the side, Cremer was ahead of Mpofu going into the Afghanistan series but he lead the wicket takers that series and has jumped to the lead .....

So who will be first ? I'd have my money on Cremer .....

Anyone think otherwise ?

judging by the last series, the next games supposedly in Europe which would most probably favour pace bowlers and of course Heath Streak's undying love for him... I got a funny feeling mpofu might get there first especially also because the opponents are not exactly world class.

it would be interesting to see where Panyangara would fit in this team when he makes a comeback. my suspicion is they will drop Ngarava and go for Chatara Mpofu and Panyangara

Don't count out Chatara getting to 100 ODIs before those guys

Tinashe has a awful ODI record. A wicket per game @47 going at over 5.5 an over .....

Maybe in the test side where he has had success but not for the odi's for me .....

Chigs has 101 wickets - he is already there.

Otherwise I'd say Mpofu if he doesn't get injured.

Chris Mpofu most likely, though I wouldn't be surprised if Cremer got there before him.

My money is on Guy Whittall to make a surprise comeback as a left arm chinaman bowler and get those 12 wickets needed to rush to a 100 ahead of everyone else (fittingly).
