This is half a chance I reckon, Australia are very short of tests this year leading into the Ashes, so an extra test v Zimbabwe might be something they feel might be beneficial.

The only thing will be whether or not they think Zimbabwe are worthy opposition? They might think it’s more beneficial to get the batsman in the the early rounds of the Sheffield Shield instead
Problem is Zimbabwe are touring Ireland through most of August. Australia are available from late July through to early September. It's the first I've heard of this postponed series to be played this August. You could possibly fit in 3 ODIs but I don't know how they can make the time to also fit in 1 Test with quarantine still a thing. Cricket Australia will soon announce their cricket season so we'll see when or if Zimbabwe feature.

This Tristan guy wrote a similar article not that long ago where apparantely Tests v Australia were out of the question but Zim were trying to add in a T20 series. Something is not right.

This is absolutely brilliant news.
I'm so pleased with the amount of cricket we're playing now

Great news. Bangladesh, then Ireland and the possibility of playing Australia as well sometime in August / September.

Well the guys have always been crying for more cricket but I wonder if “bubble fatigue” is going to set in. I don’t know how strict it is right now but 1 can assume they have to be in a bubble when they are playing domestic, international and training. Will probably get a 2 week break after Pakistan then they are straight back into it. It’s a full time job I guess, so there are no excuses

Got to give ZC some credit, they have run a lot of cricket recently during covid. NPL, some Logan, Pakistan tours, Afghanistan tour. More than some other countries. They are doing better than SA at least.

Wes madhevere has had a near perfect development, so much cricket during and after u19 stage of his career. and it showed in his performance today. Imagine if he had just been sitting for a year, no cricket. Good initative by ZC

Plenty of Kids coming through the System at the moment, the good news is that they don’t have Irish or UK passports
