Zimbabwe should target clean sweep in Ireland & Netherlands in Super League and earn as many points they can to avoid qualifiers

6 wins, 60 points and will be at n.o 3 or 4 in the chart

a mouthwatering opportunity if tour goes as per expectation
Ideally yes, but that is a long shot. I don't see Zimbabwe winning 3-0, but 2-1 in both series is possible if they play really good cricket. Add to that if they can beat Afghanistan 2-1 that'll be the best scenario. I think Zimbabwe also got 3 games against Sri Lanka, and Lanka have been doing really bad.

Finally we se to be getting things correct regarding overseas tours. I think it's brilliant that the younger lads (most of whome I've never heard of before) are getting some exposure. I really hope we can hang on to a few of the next crop, opposed to losing them in the UK.
Dane Schadendorf is one I would absolutely focus on in the next three years

This is really good, both for Zimbabwe and also Scotland who barely get any cricket. Will help them prepare for T20 WC.

This is the way to go, associate teams along with Zimbabwe, Ireland and Afghanistan need to help each other out by playing more often.

With Afghanistan's tour of Australia for 1 Test in November in doubt, could Zimbabwe fill the void?

Afghanistan were also supposed to tour Zimbabwe in December for 1 Test and 3ODI Super League games. That's probably in doubt too

Australia will be cheering they don’t have to host that test which would have cost them thousands if not more.

I doubt they’ll be rushing to invite Zimbabwe, Bangladesh or Ireland to fill the void.

Maybe they’ll invite India over for 3 t20i instead

Thats the harsh truth. It will also turn out to be an excuse if the ICC does not end up banning Afghanistan (entirely possible) from all cricket.
