Please may nobody feel bad for Shingi. He's the opposite to Hami, who is a likable guy. Shingi thinks he owns cricket in this country, he's the kingpin at Mountaineers and has more pull than the coaches. He is a proper ZANU fool and doesn't know what manners are.
Maybe this is it, he has polarised people.
I don't think Shingi is a star, but without politics he would have played more games but clearly he's turned the people who matters off him

Then you wonder why I question the value of Tristan and Liam Brickhill.

At least tristan always tries to get the match squads out early, but real journalism around Zimbabwe Cricket is something that they simply don't do properly.

Look at how Mickey Arthur-Umar Akmal is being covered for Pakistan.

In Zim the local journos are ridiculed, but the resourced ones who are supposed to be better don't do besides that odd negative article once or twice a year. Same applies to Firdose. At times it's almost like she's got hands tied behind her back when it comes to reporting SA cricket properly. All her news are 2nd hand with more experienced reporters having covered such "scandals" in local papers.

NB: We still don't know if that ZC loan was paid by the ICC as promised. Are Bvute and Chingoka's bank still milking that interest :?:

Real journalism can't exist in Zimbabwe. Freedom of press in the country is almost non-existent.

Sports journalism too?

To a large degree I think sports journalism is limited. If one makes any accusations against certain well-connected individuals you are likely to disappear for a couple of days. Even Dean du Plessis got a visit from some government thugs once.

The local journos have written some really embarrassing stuff and we've actually pointed it out on the forum. It's one thing to be 'limited' by politics when writing articles but there's really no excuse for getting simple things wrong.

Played in the UK for Bovey Tracy (Somerset) in the summer. Imagine he will be back with the Tuskers this season.

Tweeted today about being excited for the Logan Cup season with Tuskers.

Guess he didn’t end up going to Oz, in one way it’s a shame as he’s still young and a season or two could have done wonders to his game.
