Only Bruce & Chapungu survive from the first round, that’s a lot of Rhinos in the ‘camp’

Cant really say Panyangara is missing he hasn't played any "visible" cricket we can speak of.

Are the missing Rhinos in camp or are they on another junket to Singapore with Eastern Mashona? Honestly, the season starts on time with all players present. Everyone is happy (except Pariah). Then, to remove a significant number of players for camp when they could be getting real time match practice gobsmacks me. It lowers & demeans the standard of the Logan Cup.

Ian Chappell may be a dinosaur but he made some significant comments after Australia's tour of Bangladesh. Even though the tourists had a camp in Darwin, Chappell felt the Aussies were underdone, especially when the only tour match was washed out. This was a major contributor to the first test loss. He stated that match practice, any match, is better than continuous nets or simulated matches. I recall in the past Glen McGrath & Michael Clarke returning to grade for practice when they were injured & missed state games at the start of the season.

But I suppose modern coaching techniques & monitoring workloads are o much better.

Have to agree that game time would have been a better option. Rhinos versus mountaneers would have been tougher than any practice match they could have organised. A lot of places are still on the line
