Finders keepers

Post by ZIMDOGGY »

Something that's not getting talked about as much as it should.

The battle for the gloves in tests. It's becoming a real crisis now. Must be addressed.

I'll keep it short, and do some pros and cons on the options;

Regis:
Pros - can be an exceptional glove man at times. Potentially our best.

Cons- makes some horrible mistakes despite probably being the best. Can't bat to save his life anymore

Taylor
Pros - will always make the team on batting alone. Free up extra space. Not burdened by captaincy. Adequate skills
Cons- still a big burden with on his shoulder with his batting pressures. Also floats into unfit territory at times.

Moor
Pros - has had a solid start to his test career so far with the bat. Good number 7.

Cons- horrible horrible keeping against spin. Directly costs cremer plenty of wickets

Waller
Pros- good number 7. Has kept. No ones really observed him though

Cons- inexperienced and likely that's for a good reason

Richmond mutambami-
Pros- aggressive bat. Adequate keeping
Cons- has never fired on the international scene. Not really on the radar anymore

Murray
Pros- young, can keep well and is an up and coming batsman

Cons- young, only an up and coming batsman. Non committed to the nation

Zimdogs thoughts:

We need to pick our batsman 1-7 then analyse whether we have enough keeping talent within that group.

That means Taylor and Waller.
Taylor is the most accomplished keeper of the two and was the Notts keeper.

Has to be Taylor either next game, or game after if Regis fails.
