Current Zimbabwe Under 19s Should be Groomed through domestic cricket to be ready for the World Cup

Zimbabwe Under 19 Provincial Squad for the Under 19 World Cup 2018 has been declared. The Squad consist of 24 members which will be short listed later.Under 19 World Cup is going to start from January in 2018 at the team is in tough Group B with Australia, India and Papua New Guinea.


Zimbabwe Under 19s has got no fixture at present within the time left before the World Cup. ZC should provide these youths some games facing the national players and A team players at the domestic cricket that could improve their game and keep them in practice. Facing Senior Pacers and Bowling to the seniors will make them stronger enough as team is in tough group.

Top Cricket nations already started grooming their under 19s through domestic cricket. ZC should groom these players through 5 franchises taking 2 or 3 of them in each Round of the competition, depending on their availability, doing this improved performance can be seen from the under 19 side in the World Cup
