Windies won the 2 match test series 1-0, but the question put forward both the team is slow pitches in Zimbabwe. While that may have sounded encouraging for the home side, there was also a word of caution from Windies coach Stuart Law about the pitches. Wary of the pace in the West Indian bowling attack, the Zimbabweans requested slow, dry surfaces and got them.
While Law could see Zimbabwe's short-term thinking in preparing a pitch that gave the home side a better chance of avoiding defeat, he warned that they were unlikely to improve their game in conditions that prohibited attacking cricket. He then went further, suggesting the Queens Sports Club pitch - which saw just 161 runs scored and three wickets taken on the final day - was killing Test cricket.
"To play your cricket on slow, turgid, nothing wickets is not really going to set yourself forward and continue your growth to win games of cricket. We have issues around the world with the quality of pitches, especially when a touring team lands on your shores. I'd just like to see a more even contest between bat and ball," said Law."We've come from England where the ball was swinging and seaming, it provided great cricket. There are a lot of people saying that Test cricket is dying, on a pitch like that it is. No disrespect - they utilised what they had to get ahead, but for the growth of the sport, I think we need to be growing on better pitches."
Law's opposite number, Heath Streak, explained that the pitch for the second Test had not gone according to plan. "We wanted a wicket that would spin and break up, but the weather conditions on day one and two (when it was unseasonably cold and rainy) made the deterioration of the wicket much slower than it ought to be," he said. "Normally in October you get those hot, dry days and then that deterioration happens a lot quicker."

They lost both the test, spin friendly in Sri Lanka and in Slow Pitches of Zimbabwe. Next, they will be facing proteas in fast, bouncy pitches.
Hope green pitch suits Zimbabwe

There have plenty of people being critical of the type of pitch prepared the game plan and the 8-3 lineup but one must remember this is Zimbabwe we’re talking about the chances of us winning any test match against any of the top 9 in any conditions are slim.Black Mamba wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2017 4:39 amThey lost both the test, spin friendly in Sri Lanka and in Slow Pitches of Zimbabwe. We don’t play much Test cricket and we have the ‘poorest’ talent pool to pick from
Some people on the forum are picking their agendas forward claiming ‘if we did it my way we would have won’
Facts are doesn’t matter which way we went about it we were always going to be long odds to win.
Could we have our bowled the Windies on a green track ? NO
Could we have our batted the Windies on a flat track and taken more wickets ? Probably not

Re: Which tracks suits Zimbabwe ?
Talked lot about 8+3 negetive combination.
Time to give A games more importance in grooming players with some better selection policies.
Groom these players by providing them at least 5 four dayers A matches and 10 Odi A games and then evaluate their performance wheather they deserve at international stage or not
1) Kevin Kasuza
2) Tuffy Mupriwa ( wkb)
3) Blessing Muzarabani
4) William Mashinge
5) Faraz Akram
6) H Chikomba

How did Panyangara, Vitori, Shingi and Chatara outbowl Pakistan on a green track in Zimbabwe?
By the way Chatara and Panyangara are better seam bowlers than Roach and Gabriel.
For plenty fans here the reason you fail to see this is because you refuse to admit those two are better than Jarvis. So how could they be better than Roach adn Gabriel? That's the sad reasoning.
But in truth, ZIM have two world class seamers in those two.
Their Boult and Southee, Jimmy and Broad.

Re: Which tracks suits Zimbabwe ?
The likelihood of any of our bowlers (bar maybe Cremer) being better than Kemar Roach is the same as Ghana winning the next World Cup. Kemar Roach is supremely talented and world class.
Re: Which tracks suits Zimbabwe ?
Kemar Roach has really reinvented himself, hasn’t he.
He was an out and out scary speedster and now is a really accomplished seamer, albeit 15kph slower. I watched a great clip of him sconning Kallis and causing a major set to when the game was already lost, so he looked stupid, but there’s no doubting his ability. It’s interesting making comparisons, for example Bishoo’s figures were better than Cremer’s, but they weren’t bowling against the same batsmen. We continually seem unable to get 3 of our batters to fire in any one innings, that’s always our problem. I really believe we have a half decent side that could win us a few games.

We're not talking about Pakistan in 2013 we're talking about West Indies 2017 !!!!
Panyangara is not even in the country and deemed not good enough for the rhinos side, his stats from 4 years ago have small relevance now please stop living in the past.
If Panyangara and Chatara were better seamers why weren't thy given County deals like Jarvis ??
You keep going about the same things we've all heard it we're all over it.
I'd like to see how many other people would rate Panyangara and Chatara over Gabriel, Roach & Jarvis ????
Also look back in history mate that series you talk of the lowest bowling averages belonged to Pakistan's bowlers
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine ... ype=series
Also as a team Pakistan took their 40 wickets @ 23.5 runs per wicket whilst Zimbabwe took their 39 wickets @29.15 runs per wicket
To say Zimbabwe "Out Bowled Pakistan" would be statistically and factually incorrect

The fact that he molested Australian octogenarians doesn't make him better than Panyangara. He hasn't got the requisite control to thrive in this format. Panyangara does. And statistically, he's a better bet.
If a Have a once-off Test and I need a bowler I'm picking Chatara and Panyangara ahead of Roach, in all conditions! Roach can single-handedly lose you a Test match, and won't win you won against the right players under the right conditions.
