Williams undergoing finger surgery

Saw on his Instagram he is undergoing finger surgery. This probably accounts for his absense from the Bangladesh tri series. If anyone can prove professional misconduct then do so, otherwise this is the only proven alternative. (Why take him if he's booked in for the date before the final) I assume.

This article has more detail. The whole issue about him not producing a medical report on time for the tri-series suggests that there was some kind of problem beyond his injury.

The article makes things more clear: The finger injury only occured now and has nothing to do with his ommission from the tri-series, but he was injured before the Boxing Day Test and then something went awry with him not producing his medical report (and that somehow sounds like vintage Williams).
More serious is the fact that this will probably keep him out of the qualifiers.

Not sure who you are talking to; but where did I say I didn't want Williams available for the qualifiers?

IMO more important to get a guy like Tary who has years ahead of him gametime in the AFG series for the WCQ rather than a aging Williams who's track record indicates wouldn't be an impact player to level you'd expect.

Sean willeams is must required/needed for zimbabwe cricket..plz try to look for him as he is very well deserve to be include in Zimbawe cricket team...quality spin bowler with good bating..
dont look for quick result insted wait and watch...

He is still one of our best players. I remember he did very well in the 2015 World Cup. He nearly got us through against Ireland. He played some good knocks against West Indies and India, and was handy with the ball too.
