Battle for the 11th place tomorrow against Canada. We should win this on form and quality. And if we do, we'll only be finishing 1 spot below the team that went there last time. But they clearly had more fighting spirit than these guys. Also, 3 good fast bowlers to speak of (Matigimu, Ngarava, Mashinge) vs none. Fragile batting as usual too.

Probably nothing much to gain from this campaign. Last time we had that special win over SA too. And won the hearts of everyone in that WI game.

Looking at how S.A. dominated us in PE and have much better structures than us. I mean their provincial structures are probably better than our national structures. They take our best kids and give them scholarships... how on earth did we manage to beat them? That should have been totally unacceptable from their perspective with all the talent they have. They were ripped apart by Ngarava? Shocking.

That’s cricket, doesn’t happen often, but it’s great when there’s an upset

Like most World Cups for us it’s the emergence of a few players who could possibly become international players that makes it interesting.

Shumba, Wes Medhereve, TJS & Roache will hopefully be in the ZRS side and play plenty of First Class cricket next year and hopefully progress to the national team.

I’d actually have Shumba and Medhereve in the Zim A side playing Kenya for the last couple of matches

Shumba looks to be the next ‘Sean Williams’

It seems roaches bowling has come on quiet a lot lately and his batting has dropped off a bit would that be correct to any of the locals who have seen him live? I really like the look of shumba he seems to have the lot and will feature heavily for zim in the future.

We have crushed Canada, and that's what we should be doing too.

Wesley Madhevere clearly by far the MVP from this edition. Now for some domestic / ZRS action and we'll see what he's got to offer. At some point soon, he'll have to make one of the disciplines his primary trade. Hope he chooses wisely.

How do we rate this campaign?

Probably par as we finished 11th with all the real minnows finishing below us whilst all the main sides finished higher.

We avoided any embarrassing slip ups with comprehensive wins over PNG, Namibia & Canada but we barely put up a fight against India & Australia. The Sri Lanka game was slightly disappointing as we were in a very strong position only to let the game slip.

I feel we relied on 4-5 guys to do all the batting and bowling reminded me of an under 12’s side. Madhevere was obviously the standout only negative was he did all his best work against the weaker sides, it would have been nice to see him score a 50 or take 4 for against India or Australia.

Roche didn’t have the tournament that he was after with bat or ball and whilst Shumba looked good he only passed 50 once.

Nungu was one of the lesser known guys who impressed me, maybe he might be able to turn into a decent seamer if he works on his body and refines his action a touch.

I agree! And the good thing is, he's only 16 at the moment and will turn 17 in February this year. He was the quickest of our seamers and bowled at 125-130 kph consistently.

There was a drop in the quality of our seamers compared to the last edition. I wonder where that all went wrong I know Mangongo left the fastest bowler they had at home after a typical bust up. He was praising him saying he is bowling at 135kph at 17 then next thing he leaves him at home. Letting his emotions overpower his intelligence will always be Steve's downfall.
