Taibu: 'Taylor being targeted unfairly'

Post by Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic) »

Taibu: ""At the moment, the chairman (Tawengwa Mukuhlani) is in Harare holding meetings with players individually. A lot of the players are young and will be scared to stand up to the chairman. If there is a players' union in place, the board will have to speak to the players' union and there will not be able to divide and rule like they are doing. Brendan had to pay the price there, which is not right, which is what I am standing against. It takes a lot of courage for Brendan to stand up for what's right. He has my utmost respect."

Yea and he's right, as well. The seniors have shown no loyalty what so ever to the cause.

I'm excluding the youngsters here. It's all well and good Taibu calling out the kids but he was in the same scenario in 2004. These lads (Murry, Burl, Mavuta, Musakanda etc) want to play international cricket, and though they probably understand the situation, they don't want it to jeopardise their chances of playing for their country.

The likes if Chigumbura, Mazakadza, Chibahba, Nyumbu and co are the blokes I'm pissed with. Even Jarvis, Waller and Moor. Stand tall

The young guys probably remember what happened to the young guys who signed on with Streak and the rebels. The careers of Travis Friend, Richie Sims, Gavin Ewing, Barney Rogers were completely derailed by siding with the seniors.

Let the youngsters play & gain experience...
Why should Chigumbura & Chari boycott when they were outcasted by Streak's & co
Hami is on his last legs and he will not play the next World cup so let him pile up stats..

The rebels. The sellouts.
All the players that play. Especially Chigumburu who is a nothing, especially Mpofu who is taking advantage, especially Nyumbu who is a nothing if it weren't for the rest not being there, he has already sucked into the captaincy because he is matabele and mutumbami was sacked for being shona.
Chatara, burl, moor etc........hmmmmm makes you wonder with the recent al jazeera film on match fixxing and the recent fixers in ZC that these players chosen may be because they are conducive to this???? Why are they being called in one by one by ZC, are they looking to fix the games with players??

They are all a bunch of sellouts IF they play! So what if taylor and cremer etc are good enough to get a cricket gig around the world so a strike will affect them less....that's their hard work paying off! So what if they have set up businesses or educated themselves....that's their hardwork.
What have the likes of Chari/Nyumbu/Mpofu done? Made their money and spunked their money now remain ZC bitches for a crumb of bread.

This players union will happen and us players in it now shall reap more benefits. We will get 10% of the 9million EVERY YEAR, we will therefore safeguard our futures and all other future players futures and the future of cricket in our nation. We will have medical insurance, pensions, education pathways and the ability to strike and pay ourselves whilst striking until ZC treat us all like men and not the pathetic little children that they look down on us now.

This is the turning point, all you players will be known as the rebels that turn up against Aus and pakistan and you will make some history in being thrashed
a la 54 all out AND you won't ever get paid for this at all. Each and every one of you are sell outs and siding with a Board rife with corruption, kowtowing to Prosper the selector who is a liar a cheat a snitch and a fraudster indicates your moral level is lower than his and theirs.

This is very disappointing after everything is being done to help these players they are doing nothing to help them selves. They feel nothing for the future players nor for their country, every run they make and ball they bowl must be booed.

Elton's wife took a dig at Taibu too. There is definitely a split.

Jimmy - I am no fan of Utseya, but how can you accuse someone mistreated by him as worse than him?

They may be foolish or naive or just making you frustrated but they can't easily be seen as worse than the guy supposedly hurting all of you.

The usual situation prevails, player disunity. In any other major cricketing country the players always stand united in labour disputes, not Zimbabwe. ZC do seem very competent at dividing the players and ruling.

The abject poverty around them is a massive plus for ZC in this. The context is totally different to places where people have plenty of options.
