Nice to see Murray in the Tuskers squad but Jesus, there’s so many names there I’ve simply never ever heard of. Shame there’s no place for Schardendorff or Madhvere.

Who decides the size of the squads?

Eagles - 21
Mountaineers - 28
Rangers - 17
Rhinos - 32
Tuskers - 26

None of the squads have Musakanda. So has he moved out completely?

No Tendai Maruma too as I noticed... And no Hamilton Masakadza, although he had said he would play another domestic season when he retired.

Madhevere is present in Tuskers squad.

Tuskers look the most balanced in fact. Even with the bloated 32 men squad, Rhinos look the weakest.

Excited to see Myers in the Manica squad. Hope he gets a game or two during the school holidays.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again.

Zimbabwe must whittle down to two franchises,
Matabele and Mashona lands, then attach themselves to SA first class cricket.

Pretending club cricket is first class cricket doesn’t help anyone or adequately expose players to higher cricket.

Great opportunity to consolidate and save costs too.

SA now have 12 teams in their provincial set up.
Wouldn’t support another 2. Imagine this mob trying to actually organize regular cricket where you had to pitch up week in and week out. It would never happen.

I see Graeme Smith has accepted a three month contract as acting director. Only three of their thieving board of 13 resigned so he clearly has no power whatsoever and is window dressing. The rest are not budging. What is it with these people that they will not relinquish power for anything? I’m guessing it’s just a bridge for him before a lucrative IPL commentating gig. If Smith, Faul and Richardson think they’re going to stem the bleeding they’re dreaming, they’re just papering over the cracks before the England tour and will have about as much clout as Nelson Chamisa. There’s still no clarity on how they’re selecting this side to face England.
I see Booth didn’t make that squad despite much hype, he’d have been a useful addition to our U19 side, they’re seriously short of gas in the seam dept.

These lists of players in our franchise has given me a bout of Tourette’s. I know they’re working for free or peanuts at best so it’s not costing much, but these squads are bigger than Surrey’s who play about 40 games in a 5 month monster season. They know just how to keep these guys subservient and grateful. Know your people and what makes them tick, I wonder who’s bright idea that was?

It’s crazy how quickly SA in general is imploding. I’m watching it in fascination. Their cricket is in deep shit.
I’ll be Rooting for England. This racist entitled nonsense must have massive repercussions.
