Is there a path for Zim to still progress?

Obviously we need to smash the scots, but what else needs to happen?
No, because BD and PAK both have 4 points already from 2 wins each. SCO and ZIM can only get a max of 2. Also, PAK and BD have insanely high net run rates meaning SCO and ZIM have very low NRRs.

Its going to be England, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe in the Plate tourney.

I don’t disagree but who gets the boot to make room to give these guys a chance?
I'd say there's plenty of room to at least take them on tour in a 15 man squad, even with Chamu taking a spot as the 'team healer'

Chamu c
Wes
Ervine
BT
Williams
Raza
Burl
Shumba
Tiripano
Jarvis
Chatara

That XI looks good to me,

Bats down to 9

4 seam options

5 spin options

Good blend of experience and youth

You could take Chisoro, Mudzinganyama, Mashinge & Moor as the extra players

Why is Ryan Burl always so low in everyone’s batting order :|

Ideally I would have had him higher but how low do we drop BT, Willy or Ervine?

I wouldn’t have Chamu in my side but he’s going to be there so no point leaving him out of our hypothetical XI

I don’t think No.7 suits him either but he did well down there in Ireland, maybe he could bat at 5 or 6

That's not bad at all, I like the look of that XI. But what happens to Munyonga the incumbent in the shorter format?

Dont expect ZC to include performing under 19 players so early in the national set up. History says, 75% of the Zimbabwe Under 19s are run away matters, it would be surprising even if some of these talented under 19s gets domestic games.

More hammering is waiting, not only for Zimbabwe but also for the proteas. Appointment of Chibhabha clearly shows Hamilton Masakadza is not suitable in administration.Sikandar Raza should have been the captain but because of being non Zimbabwe by nature, he wasnt given the role.

Zimbabwe has no answer except Taibu - Streak duo who were putting every steps right, specially in developing players through Zimbabwe A and Academies.Money should be spent at the areas where growth is expected.

I wouldn’t say Munyonga is an incumbent in the ODI side, his overall numbers for the Eagles are actually quite modest.

He looks a good player but I’ve essentially given his spot to Shumba who is a prodigious talent. For me Shumba & Madhevere are such rare talents (Zim standards) that you can throw them into the national side and let them learn on the run.

For Munyonga he’s not quite there for me, he’d have to really establish himself on the domestic scene with a decent amount of runs.

It might sound unfair and double standards but sometimes life ain’t fair

Yeah, he hasn't essentially "failed" to be dropped, but may be these two are more exciting talents and not to be lost... He must be told very clearly that he is very much in the scheme of things and that it is good for his development to have a domestic season under his belt.

India dropped Karun Nair after he scored a test triple hundred mind you, with no clear communication coming for continued exclusion after that, and he has never been able to get back to those lofty heights in his form and confidence.

But communication is not ZC selectors' forte anyway...

This looks good. Not sure about Don in ODIs tho. Rather have Bobby until a youngster steps up. Myers and Murray will be knocking on that door soon

Yeah look I agree Tiripano isn't the best option but the cupboard is really bare

Mpofu has been average in his last few ODIs IIRC, he's best for t20 now, plus we can't afford to run three No.11s in the same side
