Re: Updated team ranking

Not many of us have probably noticed this but in the latest ICC rankings which are recalculated every year in May, Zimbabwe have risen to No. 11 in the ODI rankings (from 13th earlier) this is largely due to the good results over last 1 year.

Zimbabwe are now ahead of Ireland, Scotland and Netherlands in all three formats.

All three teams are neck and neck without much to separate them in all formats. Ireland drew the most recent ODI series 1-1 with Zimbabwe, both at home and away. Netherlands were 1 run away from beating ZIM 2-1 in Zimbabwe. I'm pretty sure the last ODI series in Scotland was also 1-1 or something. The Associates have been catching up. They used to only win the odd game vs Zimbabwe, but now they win one in every single series, and with washouts many of the series have been 1-1 draws. And this is with the Big 4 still there and in form (Taylor, Williams, Ervine, Raza).

The youngsters will have to step up very quickly in the next couple of years, and there is a lot of ground to cover if Zimbabwe want to remain in the top 15 sides in international cricket.
