Zimbabwe coach Lalchand Rajput will not be joining the team in Pakistan, something to do with him being Indian and them not approving his visa
Hondo will take charge

According to CI his visa was approved but the Indian High Commission stepped in to say he wasn’t allowed to go.

Hondo being interim head coach isn't the issue, ZC didn't have the time to bring in a better interim, and to be fair who's going to want to coach Zimbabwe for one series anyways?
The big issue is he's still the bowling coach & the batting coach is Stuey, so by default one of these guys had to be the interim.

Yeah, it was going to be a tossup between the two. Matsi was probably a better choice given his successes with the Rising Stars. I still remember Hondo getting schooled in a press conference from one of the journalists that he was part of the selection panel
By the way, I'm not sure how sensible it is to be in Pakistan right now. There is a major showdown happening between the Pak military and the Karachi police. Unlikely the PM has any control over things happening there. Looks pretty dangerous.

Bit difficult to get another coach in these times for short notice, but it's silly that the PCB do not step in here. A team without their coach is just silly.
Just curious, what are Hondos credentials?
