Just spotted a bit of bad news for Anthony in todays Daily Telegraph.
He has been penalised 3pts under the ECB disciplinary code for bowling two consecutive beamers in the 20/20 match against Warwickshire, it is his second such offence this season.
It doesn't seem to be his best form of cricket this season, he has played 2 matches so far for figures of 3.3-0-44-1 and an economy rate of 13.89.

Must be a case of trying something different and getting it completely wrong. Brings back memories of Travis Friend...

Yeah he was probably looking for a slower ball or a yorker. That's how Travis used to end up bowling the beamer. Ireland has been bowling pretty well for Gloucester, he's been on sky a few times.

After a pretty unimpressive start to this season, a couple of 2nd XI matches, Ireland certainly did the business on his 1st XI call up for Gloucestershire.
Coming on 1st change, and with Leicestershire 83-0, he returned figures of 14-4-31-6 as Leicestershire collapsed to 96-8 and 133 all out, Gloucestershire were struggling themselves at 75-4 but a great effort by him.

Well done, Anthony Ireland. Really a good performance taking 6 wickets in an innings.

damm not great news for zimbabwe as its the last year of his contract and i was kind of hopping he would be left in the seconds all season and be released and then come back and play for zimbabwe
