Zim Players in England

Post by ZIMFAN »

I know that Maehara had something like this before on his Zim Cricket News site but I thought it could be good to chart Zim players performing in England this summer in either county or league cricket.

So, off the top of my head

Ervine - Hants
Ireland - Middlesex
Wessels - Notts
Ballance - Yorks

Feel free to add if you know any

Elton chigumbura, Murray Goodwin and Kirk cameron play for countys too.
Wessells isn't Zimbabwean.

Alsoo heappppppps playing park Cricket fir money . I'm guessing level below county

Also worth mentioning around the world:
Nz- colin de grandhomme (Auckland)
Aus- Scott Brant (qld)
Saf - Paul Harris and prob a few others

I also remember a article a few yrs ago about some pace bowler talking himself as the best zim had and how he left the country and was representing America.

Could anyone know who in talking about ?

All I remember was he was black and he said to the author " I was fast man, I was da best man"

I read it nearly a decade ago

Ya it was mate. I think I've read that article...recently too. I'll try and find it.
He was talking about what he could have done for Zimbabwean Cricket had he stayed.
I never saw the guy bowl or even play...cricinfo says he last played 10 years ago...
Anybody got some news as to how fats he bowled...
I read that he could click up to 140Kph somewhere

I know the two Higgins brothers are playing for a team in Devisers. From the Mash eagles in the off season P J Moor and Kyle Jarvis are playing ,I think, for the club that Grant Flower played for and Calum Price is playing for a club called Stone in Staffordshire

I remember him dismantelling the wickets of Man-of-the-series SS Das in his first ever test. He also did reasonably well against Pak in Pak

Brighton Watambwa. Was pretty quick, yeah, played most notably in the 2002 series against West Indies and against India. Ian Botham was very impressed.

Google his name and Enock Muchinjo. Muchinjo is the one who wrote the article, back in 2006

Chigumbura does not have a county deal this year, and Brant hasn't got a game for Queensland for years...
