Re: 2nd Unofficial Odi | Zimbabwe A V/s South Africa A | Harare
I don't understand any of the captaincy choices we have domestically and in these A squads / training squads. They just seem to be there for respecting the seniority. How would Chatara be a good choice as captain? What are his leadership credentials? Are we seeing him as a future Zim captain? Leadership is something that needs grooming too. Seriously, who after Williams?
I would have made Myers or Kaia lead this team to see what they are made of, with an eye on the future national leadership role.

From whatever litle I have watched in the last match and this so far, Chatara is definitely in better shape physically, than a few weeks ago in the domestic competition. But nowhere near his best with pace and accuracy.
Chivanga kept delivering hit-me full tosses regularly too, but seems to have some real pace about him. Seriously lacking plan and accuracy.

Chivanga seems like the quickest of the seamers Zimbabwe had for last four to five years, and his action seems quite neat and smooth, how quick is he guys? If this guy can learn few more tricks up his sleeve, he could really become an asset to the team.

By Zim standards Chivanga has some serious gas

I'd definitely get him to have a go at the BD team in the test match (because it is BD, would not have done that against Pak). If he can work on his accuracy, he can be a real good prospect.

Chivanga has pace but very poor technique, still got a lot to learn before he should play international cricket.
These matches against SA will really help his development, he is going get knocked around the park but it will help him realise what he has to do to make the cut.
Nyauchi should be playing these games as well instead of jongwe, poor guy can’t catch a break at the minute.
Watched the full game for the first one. Bowling wise we were absolutely awful.
Chatara has movement and looks really good, but chucks in at least one delivery an over that is an absolute pie. Good to see him getting back to normal again, he is needed in the side.
Mufudza is an awful off spinner, he got wickets but was so erratic it was embarrassing to watch. Kaia s technique was 10 times better, same with chisoro. Don’t want see mufudza part of the NAT setup unless he learns how to bowl wicket to wicket.
Really impressed by the batsmen, great opening stand, Myers and Marumani were great. Marumani is still slightly too aggressive at times but he will learn as he develops. Was great to see us hit more than 300 for a change though.
