Once the pitch becomes flat, speed becomes factor as reverse swing comes into the equation. In recent test series Hasan Ali & Shaheen Afridi with their pace showed that reverse swing is available in flat track of Harare.

Zimbabwe A pacers doesnt have that skill or speed either to trouble this Proteas A side with reverse swing. Its now fully depends on spinners to apply the brake in Proteas A innings.

Sub continent bowlers are very skilled in bowling in such conditions.

What do you think is the most important way to teach young kids how to bowl on flat decks from a young age?

Is putting tape around half the ball the best way to learn how to swing the bowl on flat decks?
looks likes our coaching staff are incapable of coaching bowlers how to bowl on a flat deck!

Flat decks will really be the death of us. They totally have to explain themselves here because the pitches are rarely flat for domestic games

I listened to Elton’s interview with Dean Duplesis.Elton argued that the flat deck, are good for us because touring teams can get wickets bowling in flat decks why can’t our bowlers get wickets?

So I guess this is a ZC strategy to roll out flat decks

1)Needs to develop the culture of tennis bowl cricket among youths and yes the use of tap bowl to make it slightly heavier, thats make speed only way to deceive the batsman

2)Develop a quick arm action, strong shoulders and an even stronger back to generate pace with a ball as light as a tennis ball

3) Once a pace bowler becomes quick in the air he can use the wind to produce the art of reverse swing.

Results aren't really important at the A team level. There are no points or ratings at stake.

No matter what level, athletes should play to win. Zimbabwe has a losing culture that needs to stop. You play to win period. The SA A team has already shown that they came here to win matches. We cannot always just participate, because once defeat stops hurting it becomes normal.

I think there are a lot of grounds men at HSC who need something to do, so they may overwork the pitch. I remember the pitches at school boy level were pretty flat in Zim cause they were a lot of grounds men compared to some other countries where you will only have one or two. Makes it good for batting though 😀

This is the wrong mentality. Winning at the lower levels is as important as at the highest. When you learn to win from a young age, you breed success. It is completely wrong to just be like, "it's only an A game so it's not as important"

Brandon Mavuta going @7, few years ago he was seen as replacement of Cremer, even few rated him as better then Cremer after his success in test series against Bangladesh.

He is struggling after being in & out of the team, and at present is struggling to pitch the bowl in that offstump length that creates doubt in batsman's mind wheather the delivery would be gentle leg spin or a decaptive googly, as accuracy matters for leg spinners. A leggie always requires suport from a captain and selectors during his hard times as confidence plays an important role for his success.
