They have an opportunity to qualify for World Cups and there's expanded tournaments in the next cycle, too. They have to decide which formats they prioritise as well. Whether they play the volume of Test cricket needed to be part of the championship is one of the things we'll be keeping an eye on over this [2021-23] cycle.

The test match against Bangladesh is probably the most important test match we will play for years. A lot is on the line. We beat them in 2018, Afghanistan beat them in 2019. We win this game then we have a right to start asking questions.

Ireland don't even play any Tests and both Afghanistan and Zimbabwe play 3 or 4 a year. Getting to 6 Tests per year will be a challenge.

ZC, Cricket Ireland and Afghan Board combined effort in ICC meeting could have included them included them in 2021 -23 cycle of the test championship. They could have laid down the performances of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Windies in Test Championship 2021-23,if debate was based on performance in tests.
Dont see this three side getting included in the championship unless a combined strong pressure is created by them in ICC

Windies actually finished 6th place ahead of SA.

ICC should either include Zim, Ireland & Afghan in the championship or should start a Tier 2 championship with promotion relegation system, things shouldn't go like this in longest format

promotion-relegation system must be avoided or it devalues tests on the second tier
