Just when we thought we have not been unlucky with umpiring decisions at least... And that had to happen to the most likeable and dogged performer in the team, no less.

I don't know on jettisoning Don. I think he has massive heart and is our fourth seamer. He's not going to get 5fers and 6fers. But he can hold an end up, pick up a couple of wickets and is an excellent team man. There is value in that.

He's obviously really likeable and very popular etc but lets be honest; he's a really poor Test bowler nowadays. He wouldn't get anywhere near any other Test XI in the world, including even Ireland. He's probably about the eighth or ninth best seamer in Zim.

Theres value in his batting but like I say, it would have to be predominately as a batter, in the top six. Myers looks a better bet as a genuine batsman capable of sending down some medium pacers.

Top teams don't pick people on the basis of them being nice guys with good hearts. If Zimbabwe do so we'll continue being bottom of the pack.

Shumba
Kaitano
Taylor
Ervine
Williams
Chakabva
Raza
Jongwe
Tiripano
Nyauchi
Muzarabani

Throw in Kasuza, Burl, Myers, Madhevere, Ngarava and we have a half decent team. Not having Williams and Ervine pretty much meant the game was gone the moment the word Maruma was written on the team sheet.
