Team playing test cricket for 20 years getting defeated by a baby team who was 2 yrs old played only one off test against India, is of huge surprise. One off, 2off series is just a rubbish excuse after getting smashed in their own backyard. A non WTC team wining series against WTC side that too at their home raises big question about their participation in global event

On comparision on both teams at prime, Zim under Flower, Streak Era has won and drawn more test matches then Bangladesh in Shakib Mushfiq's era.

Zim under Streak Flower era has won test series against full strength Pakistan, best at time, that too in their backyard, beat india, drawn against quality English, Kiwis, Sri Lankan & Proteas side, all these were of high quality at that era, moreover they had overseas wins against best teams.
whereas Bangladesh under Mushfiq Shakib has won nothing against the best sides except few series wins against struggling Windies side and one or two beats and pieces win over Aus & England at home, there is no test series win for Bangladesh against a quality side either at home or away.

When it comes to draw, Zim under Streak Flower era has drawn 24 of their test against top teams wheareas Bangladesh has got draw only 12 test under Shakib Musfiq era

Bangladesh won few test over England & Australia, similarly Zim won against Pakistan. Both these two teams has won nothing in overseas against top side. There is no heaven & hell difference between the two, moreover WTC was finalized in 2017 and started in 2019, in 2 years some development

Bangladesh in their 20 years of test cricket never moved to top 6 in test ranking. A 20 year experienced test side getting bashed from a new commer that too in the hardest format of the game questions thats team credibility, if a 20 years experienced side is not an established then they would never been established any time either.

India playing the game from 1930 when Bangladesh & Pakistan not even existed, India played 17 years of cricket under colonial rule, where freedom was most important then playing cricket and till 1980 only 5 or 6 nations played the game and all were strong teams, there was no existance of weak teams at that era. Still India won in New Zealand 1968, back to back test series wins against England in England 1971 and against Lyod's Windies, at their den, the giants at that time in 1971 and again against England in England in 1986

Zim & Bangladesh still found each other latee and win games in their initial phases. Though, Zim won against strong teams both at home and away from 1992 to 1999 before BD got status. India drawn 28 away tests from 1990 -2000, whereas BD got white washed on every away series they played, not even a draw, due to problem in Windies cricket they won few there, else more humiliation were there. BD is yet to win a test in ENG, AUS, NZ, SA,PAK, already 21 years now and it looks bleak they will win any game either in 9 years. Neither you have stats to proof nor a good logic to hide humiliation against Afghans  Put some cold ice and sleep thinking about matching India. Its because of Mr. Dalmia of BCCI, PCB & SLC BD are fortunate to play test cricket. Kenya have better world cup records then BD due to luck they didnt got tests status whereas with 2 wins in 1999 world cup, BD was offered test status within a year

Well Indian pace attacks won series against full strength England, giant Windies in 1980s.Your Pace attack won how many test matches and series in IND, ENG, AUS, NZ, SA, PAK ? Your claims doesnt match BD team's stats. WTC started in 2019 when Afghans already won a test in an exciting away and Zim won a test in Bangladesh. BD is in WTC only because of money power and popularity. A team whose test ranking has never been within top 7 can play only with ifs & buts not with bat & ball. Its hard luck for Zim missing WTC despite having stats similar to BD. What Windies C team done to them in recent test series puts the debate more further.
I'm sure India were playing second string sides during all those away series wins. How will they win overseas with 4 spinners? Doesn't make any sense.

1968 NZ series - Pretty weak NZ bowling attack. Before Hadlee's time. Only 1 bowler averaged under 30.
1971 WI series - Again weak Windies bowling attack with Sobers being their best bowler. No pace quartet here.
1971 ENG series - Decent English bowling attack at best. Only 2 bowlers averaged under 30.
1976 NZ series - No Hadlee here either. India wouldn't win a Test in NZ again till 2009, 20 years after Hadlee retired.

No wins against WI when they had Holding, Roberts, Garner, Ambrose, Walsh, Bishop, et al.

In fact there was a 16 year period where India didn't win any overseas Tests from 1986 to 2002! Thats almost as long as Bangladesh's 20 year Test history (longer if you factor all the breaks Bangladesh Test team has had in 20 years). And that was after India were established for 50 years already.

So lets wait until Bangladesh has played Tests for another 30 years, and then give them 16 years to win a major away Test.
Bangladesh played 7 matches in WTC won nothing drawn 1 in 2019-2021 phase finish at the bottom, even Zim, Afghan or Irish teams can finish last in the table with similar stats of win / loss /draw like Bangladesh, if they are picked in WTC, therefore ICC picking Bangladesh in WTC is just because of finance, gate money from audience and popularity whereas Zim & Afghans are not picked because of financial problem and lack of popularity of the game
And Bangladesh can also lose a one-off WTC final to NZ in English conditions.

A team which became full member in 2000 will not have enough knowledge on what 2nd string windies, aussies, english or kiwis were at that era or what were the rules. India won 1 test and drawn 8 tests in Windies till 2000 when Windies had fire in that side, where other asian side used to shiver facing there pace

Told you don't make rubbish claims, without making research

India won 1983 world cup against Holding, Marshall, Roberts and also test matches in india in there presence in 87, 94 Imagine them bowling at Bangladesh  full team would have been hospitalized with serious injury. Its great luck that BD haven't faced that Windies. Although now day a C grade Windies is bashing BD at their own backyard despite making spin friendly pitch

KriterionBD you may bring any stats but truth is Zim is facing neglection in WTC, there is least or no difference between Zim & BD, as both are pathetic in overseas tours against top opposition.

83 WC is kinda meaningless because the ODI format was still developing. In those days a player could do 36 not out facing 190 balls which just proves the format was totally unrecognizable to today's game.

Fact remains no away wins in Windies when WI had their pace greats. I never said those were 2nd string attacks, I just said they weren't great attacks with every bowler averaging under 30 like 70s Windies, or 2000s Aussies (Lee averaged low 30s I believe). Even 2000s India...I don't think won a Test in Australia with more than 2 of their 4 great bowlers (McGrath, Lee, Gillespie, Warne). Not 2nd string but half string attack.

Thats called achievement. Only team in cricket history to win 60 50 & 20 overs world cup

70s & 80s cricket competition was tougher as rules were differant. Games was not in professional state, neither it achieved heights.Weak team never existed to improve stats and win games. AUS, ENG, WI, NZ, IND ( before partition), SA only played the top level game.
Your views in cricket is meaningless just like your BD team.

Did BD team achievement matched even Zimbabwe's achievement in 20 years cricket history ? How many World Cups, Asia Cups, Champions Trophy, T20 World Cup BD Won in 20 years cricket history ? How many away tour test matches they have won in their 20 years cricket history ? How many test series BD have won in your backyard against top teams in your 20 years cricket history ?

Nothing except feeding Excuses. ICC being on subconitinent hands made BD full member with just 2 wins in WC 1999, whereas Kenyans didnt got test status despite being semi finalist in 2003 WC

BD has won more away Tests in their first 21 years than India has. We can compare BD to present day Indian team around 2090 or so.

Think about it this way: To match India, BD has 70 years to win 30 odd away Tests in AUS/ENG/SA/NZ/WI.

Until 2010 or so, Pakistan had a better overseas record than India for 50-60 years. If Pakistan can do it, Bangladesh can too.

 India won many test matches against English team, when ICC never existed, termed as international matches but was not awarded, before they got test status. Bangladesh & Pakistan never existed then . In 2090 present India will be at differant level, achievements will be more. That gap can't be filled in this life time for BD, except by talking with mouth

Pakistan has never won a test series in Australia or in Windies at their prime, even not against South Africa. Present Bangladeshi i,e star players are in full dislike of playing test cricket, and neither their present peformances against the best has been so competative.

Tamim - Serious about test cricket but his performances are average

Shakib - Superstar , No interest in test cricket and the way he response in media in test format, it seems he will leave test cricket very soon.

Musfiqur - Only a 3 format quality player, but its not possible for him to take the team single handedly

Mominul - Looked best scored against top teams after debut but now he faded away

Riad - Retired from the game

Mustafizur - Injury prone, same like Shakib, no interest in playing Test

Examples are missing to influence youth to carry BD forward in test cricket.Young generation players Liton, Shanto or Sarkar are once in a blue moon performer. In that sense, doesn't see them wining any in overseas at home they may trouble ENG, AUS or WI with spin but still hard to expect

Zimbabwe are bit ahead though results speaks against them, they get less chance to play tests, but still there is energy in seniors to play the longest format

So now you're going to talk about unofficial A team matches to make your points?

And Bangladesh only has to win 33 away Tests by 2090 to match India's PRESENT 20201 record, not India's record by 2090. India had a 70 year head start in Test cricket.

Tamim - away Test average 44 (in ENG-AUS-NZ-SA). Sehwag away Test average 33 (in ENG-AUS-NZ-SA). Nuff said.
Shakib, Mushy - agreed. No issues here.
Mominul - he is at the least a decent player. He can be a great if he scores some runs against Top 4 (AUS, ENG, IND) already has 2 hundreds vs Champions NZ.

Add Taskin - has shown a lot of promise bowling on dead tracks in Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Shoriful will be a decent seamer in due time. Nayeem Hasan and Rakibul Hasan will be very good spinners.

Shanto is going to be a superstar, perhaps a bit inconsistent, but has a penchant for big scores it looks like. He just has to figure out how to score runs at home (away average 46, home average 18). Thats a good place to be for an Asian batsmen, trust me.

Offcourse at that time India represented as nation, all those games were of international status but didn't get status because of lack of any regulatory board.

Tamim's 44 average is of no use. Clear your facts Tamim haven't played test in Australia. Shewag's 33 average were of wining cause, and he was part of many overseas wins. He even not half of Shewag as per overseas stats.

Momimul struggled got to agree that and he still struggling. Those two tons against NZ is in home condition and were of long time, but of no use.

Taskin is overated. Only perfofms against lower ranked side. When he was chucking, he had some good performances, in new actions he has nothing except against Sri Lanka & Bangladesh, struggled in seam friendly condition of New Zealand. Nayeem looks part timer.

Shanto another superstar only against lower ranked side.Away average is only because of scoring against struggling Sri Lankan side, achieved nothing out of Asia.

If any players have performed against top side outside asia with consistency that's only Mushfiqur Rahim & Shakib, rest were either inconsistent or turned useless.

With performance against Sri Lanka, Windies or Zimbabwe you can't claim team matching India
