Funny isn't it! Where is the balance in that?

They'll probably field all the seamers then so it will be: 1Tino, 2Vusi, 3Hammy, 4Taylor, 5Taibu, 6Ervine, 7Meth, 8Jarvis, 9Price, 10Vitori, 11Mpofu (with Pro unfortunately, & Regis deservedly, missing out).

Let's see, Vusi is a shaky opener, Tino is virtually our gift to them, Ervine out of form despite a knock of 42, Taibu still not recovered and short of match fitness! Only Hammy & Taylor to really count on. Tough to call but, unless the bowling quintet pulls off a master-class, my smart money money's on Bangladesh on this one!

Go Tigers! We sabotaged you with the pitch and have gifted you a perplexing line-up. Typical of our selectors.

I like Jarvis, but I think they picked him because they felt if they shunned him he would go back to the UK where I'm certain 2nd team and eventually 1st team county will beckon, making it difficult for them to get him back. That would probably explain Elton's exclusion.

I just read the article in full:
"It is a bit of a foreign concept for us because we've become used to playing a spin-based attack because all of our games have been one-day cricket, but we started thinking about it a long time ago.

"We knew that this would come about, so for the past six months we've been thinking about which seamers would be in the frame. We've got four here plus Elton (Chigumbura), and those are the guys who've shown that they're best equipped to deal with the rigours of Test cricket."
It looks like Chigumbura was just omitted from the list on the website, not the real squad.

I think this is the team I'd go in with:

1. Taylor (c)
2. Sibanda
3. Masakadza
4. Taibu (wk)
5. Ervine
6. Chakabva
7. Chigumbura
8. Meth
9. Price
10. Vitori
11. Mpofu

But I have a feeling Mawoyo will get the nod over Chakabva. I don't think either of them deserve to be in the Test team quite frankly, but Chakabva at least has the better First Class record.

A rough calculation says the above team has 82 Test matches worth of experience, only 4 players making their debut. That's not too bad considering there's been a 6 year break.

Chakabva?? I just don't know what Forster has to do to be picked. Jarvis?? It would have been better to include an extra batsman since we have better quicks. I hope Pro doesn't play on Thursday.

poor mutizwa what does he have to do ? chakabva has done nothing to prove his place in the side . good to see they have gone with meth and kept utseya around the squad
