This is Irish side is as strong as its been for several years IMO. Porterfield, Stirling, Tector, and Tucker are solid top 4. Only the middle order is weak. Josh Little is a top class seamer, and Irish spinners generally keep it tight even when they aren't picking wickets. They just need to find 2-3 decent guys batting at 5-7 and they can challenge WI and Sri Lanka.
This Team haven't performed against top teams except one or two upsets.Their maximum wins came against Netherlands, Scotland, Afghanistan & Zimbabwe, but yes their future looking strong once the experienced domestic players arriving from other nations gets clearance to represent Ireland

Zimbabwe & Ireland are quite same with perfomance and the ranking in last few years, since Zim had the experience they should have won the Odi Series and improve their position in Super League points table. 20 points in this series and 30 against Netherlands could have take Zim in comfortable position in the league
15 points is not a terrible outcome from this series and reflects that in total, both teams are pretty much equally placed. 20 points (for ZIM) was probably ideal, and 10 points likely. So 15 is a fair performance.

The series vs Netherlands will perhaps be critical to determining which teams finishes 13th and faces potential relegation to League 2. ZIM will need at least 20 points from that series and hope Netherlands don't beat too many teams.

It's going to be very interesting.
13th for Zimbabwe will be a disaster. Let's see. I think you predicted 15 points for Zimbabwe in this series long back in some thread , so spot on there Kriterion!

Netherlands and Afghanistan series will be crucial. So before the end of the year we will know where Zimbabwe stands.

I predicted 2-1 but wasn't sure which side. It's highly likely had it not rained in game 2, Ireland would.have won it 2-1.

In the the 30 points were split. Representative result IMO.

Only Taliban factor could stop Afghans, most of their fixtures are in sub continent they can find better of Sri Lanka & Windies, can expect some upsets against SENA countries in asian spin friendly conditions

Exciting series will be Afghans against Bangladesh, the way tracks in bangladesh are playing for spinners, this series could be the series of lowest totals.

Zim got to get 30 points must against Netherlands to be in the mix of finishing high and should arrange matches by making research on weather and prepare fully green seam friendly pitches to win against Afghans

With the world cup being expanded again will there even be a relegation?

Zimbabwe desperately need some points. The 9 ODIs against Ireland, Netherlands, and a totally out of form Sri Lanka will be absolutely vital for them.

They've got 3 against Afghans, but Afghans have got their number, so I'm not having big hopes on that.

India and Australia they don't stand a chance.
Finishing in the top 8 and outright qualification is probably off the table (albeit still lots of series to play). Realistically ZIM can expect to get 15 points in Ireland (1-1 draw with the guaranteed washout per series), 10-20 points from Netherlands, and another 10-20 from SL and 10 from Afghanistan. So thats a total of 45-65 points from 12 games.

Haha good find. I forgot about that. My more recent prediction was 2-1 or 1-2. But looks like I was much smarter a month and half ago, lol.

Who knows? My guess is 2027 WC will be expanded to 14 teams, but they will keep the present Super League structure of 13 teams. It will either be top 8 or top 10 get automatic qualification, with the rest duking it out for the final 4-6 spots. I can't see the SL expanding to more than 13 teams.
