Gate charges
Gate charges
Im a bit concerned.
Is the US$3 for the rest of the ground fair considering the low turnout or rather make it $1 or $2.l think this has lead to poor crowds.
There are also extra charge of car parking at the ground of US$5. l knw it might sound cheap comparing with countries like England,Australia etc bt considering the local people earning less l think its a bit unfair. What do you think?

Re: Gate charges
Fair point we wouldn't know how much of a sacrifice US$3 is for those living in Zim, but surely that sounds about fair, I mean that's about R20 (two loaves of bread!) And did we get 5000 in this weekend?

Re: Gate charges
Commies were saying 6000+ people came in, if decent results keep coming, more of the same will continue to happen hopefully

For the game which had fallen behind in terms of viewership.1st they have to attract big crowds lets say $1 per match. Then on the long run when the demand of the game increases increase the prices so that they is a bit of eqilibrium such that if they charge $3 or more there will be a gurantee of a full stadium. People of Zimbabwe like cricket and the administrators are leting them down at the moment.Lets hope they address these concerns for the up coming tour of pakistan to Zimbabwe.

But if 5000+ were in at $3, then I'd say it isn't too much...doubt lowering it to $1 would get more in, but I follow your logic, get them hooked then gradually move the prices up, where I differ is the start point, I say $3 for an international match is more than fair (although as stated above I am not sure what the sacrifice is).etoreveyi wrote:FlowerPower wrote:Fair point we wouldn't know how much of a sacrifice US$3 is for those living in Zim, but surely that sounds about fair, I mean that's about R20 (two loaves of bread!) Re: Gate charges
I agree, tickets should be as cheap as possible everywhere in the world. In order to make the sports as inclusive as possible, $1 sounds like a reasonable price for Zimbabwe.
I'd like to see the prices lowered here in Australia too, but it won't happen for as long as people like me are silly enough to keep paying for tickets. I think the last match I went to was about $3.60 an hour for parking plus around $15 - $20 for a ticket. And this was a tour match...

Re: Gate charges
At $1 we may as well charge nothing. We complain, and incite players to abandon ship because they are paid peanuts, then turn around and say source of revenue should be foregone...I say even at $5 people would still have come in (and even that gives a modest gate takings of $25000, hardy enough to pay match appearance fees). I think if 5000 people can pay $3, this should be fine. Ofcourse $15-$20 would be a deterrent, but any thing less than $1 is hardly enough to pay for the paper the tickets are printed on, you may as well charge nothing.brmtaylor.com admin wrote:I agree, tickets should be as cheap as possible everywhere in the world. Re: Gate charges
Ummm l dnt realy think ZC relies on gate taking for revenue. l think for Zimbabwe cricket at the moment sponsors should fill that gap. All l was saying is 1st they should rebrand and then start thinking abt geting revenue thru gate charges, just like what the did when Zim 1X was playing. average salaries for gvt workers is around us$200 per month so if a family of 3 attends a match it will cost roughly $20 including lunch. This actually erodes 10% of your salary on only one game.Food for thought..FlowerPower wrote:At $1 we may as well charge nothing. Re: Gate charges
Zim Cricket just got $250 000 from CBZ
Re: Gate charges
ya meaning a full hse currently they generate $10 000 plus extra cash from the Vip which cost $5 per person. Then pple will start demanding for the sport to be screened on Natioanl TV.Meaning more money from TV rights. If they follow that concept withen 2yrs there will be fade up of cash..Flower power wrote:Zim Cricket just got $250 000 from CBZ
