Who can blame them scouring the world when you see the below graph.

County cricket is a dismal failure for preparing test batsmen.
This is a country of 66 million+ Welsh+Good Irish players;

Damn, Root is carrying the entire organization...alone!!!. So aoart from Burns and Root, ALL other England batsmen scored less than extras, this is beyond pathetic. They have the facilities, they have high society, hoity-toity academies and private schools with budgets exceeding most third-world countries, great university cricket teams, counties...how the hell do they justify producing such an impotent bunch of batsmen? The myth of county cricket supremacy has been laid bare for the world to see..Australia can pick ANY bowler from the Sheffield cup and he can easily rip through the best batting lineup county cricket has to offer :lol: :lol: . They need to fast-track Tawanda "the next big thing" Muyeye into the team asap, he is destined to be the saviour of England cricket!!
The standard of County cricket has been severely exposed, with most county batsman looking at sea during the Ashes.

It’s fair to say the Logan cup is a higher standard and can produce Test quality batsman if enough resources are put in.

If USA have pulled out of the warm up games yet are still playing in the WC itself that surely needs to be rectified?
If we are playing Ireland 4 times in a row that really is the thin end of the wedge.

If this covid scam ever ends and we manage to get a county side here for their pre-season prep we will be able to test that statement.

What we need is Covid Cricket- daring young men that understand and accept that the hazards of Covid Cricket are right up there with the likelihood of being killed outright by a Ryan Burl bouncer.

Nah, the USA aren’t even qualified for the World Cup, I think they were planning to fly to Barbados just for the tri-series with Zim and Ireland and 1 other match against I think PNG U19. But now they haven’t travelled.

We should be all over Ireland U19’s. If we don’t comfortably win the series I’ll be very worried.

So are Ireland and Zim the only two countries playing only against each other for warm up? This really sucks.

They need to play a diverse range of teams to warm up.

Will be interesting to see if we ever get a county side touring again.

May be Dave Houghton can pull a few strings and get us something.
