2022 U19 World Cup Thread
Re: 2022 U19 World Cup Thread
It's crazy how many kids go to school in SA and UK from Zim. We have been left so far behind in our school system here in every aspect. These big UK schools are absolutely astonishing in what they offer, and they have a surprising number of overseas students, maybe up to 10% in some instances. There are some properly entitled kids that go there as well. I'm not sure there's a single thing in Zim that hasn't been butchered beyond recognition.
I watched a YouTube video on our railway system. In the 50's we had the most advanced railway on the planet, no jokes. Now its in tatters. There was a brief attempt at electrifying it some years ago, but I don't think there's a single overhead line left, all stolen.
I was watching some footage of West Indies during that game, there seems to be a lot going on there and looks like it works, I'm wondering why so many West Indians made their way to the UK all those years ago.

Though this India under 19 team is weak but what they possess is some good bunch of genuine allrounders which was'nt there in previous editions. Raj Bawa, Sindhu & Tambe,
Rajvardhan Hangargekar are some bright prospect.

I was just looking at their squad. On paper they're the strongest team here by a long way. Most of them have played County Two's, some have played List A and most are either fully contracted or have Academy contracts. This is a powerhouse team. That young Indian leggie contracted by Leicestershire is tipped to play for England.

I suspected this Bangladesh side was poor. Looks like that is certainly the case. Maybe COVID related, but thats every other side in the tournament. Its a level playing field. In fact, the dozen or so games Bangladesh has played is actually more than any other non-Asian side.
