Found this on the Hampshire website, i would like to make it clear that it was a complete accident and that i wouldn't normally be found looking at such second rate sites
http://www.rosebowlplc.com/news/dawson- ... impression
Does that mean Sean Ervine in Zim or somewhere else ?
http://www.rosebowlplc.com/news/africa- ... neighbours
It will be interesting to follow this as the season progresses

Would Sean Ervine have the nerve to show his face here after what he did and later said, or to put it more correctly - would any of the franchises' CEOs have the guts to even consider him!? In that event even I would be fully behind Bvute if he were to summon them and sack them on the spot.
These guys are stupid! Sean was eclipsed by Dawson, while Ballance was also eclipsed by the equally young Bairstow who happens to be English and playing for them as we speak. Not to mention the other young Eng players who outperformed Ballance in the ended season and received call-ups, Cook, KP, Bell, EM & Trott will be around and at the top for a long time, plus with Bopara finding his feet as well, they'll all keep him out even longer! Unless he's restricted to the infrequent and unimportant games against lesser sides, if Ballance were to play for Eng within the next 5 years, not only will it be a miracle, I predict they'll be an outcry from a lot of the former English players! Wise up son. Link up with the boys ugainst NZ! In any case who's to guarantee that he won't have a below average season foloowing a brilliant one - like what happen to the traitor.

I think you'll find that Sean ervine spends slot of his spare time in Zimbabwe. His whole family is there - he can watch Craig playing cricket and chill on the farm etc
Second point.... Does Anyone find it very uncomfortable Dawson just absolutely raped the field when he played?? A century and 7 wickets just reeks of a sub standard comp.... Especially with the absences of Williams and the unexplained lamb, butterworth, callum etc

I think it would not kill Sean Ervine if he joined one of the Franchises , it would improve his game time and at the same time add quality to our first class structure . If he doesn't want to play for the national team then fine , but when other English boys such as Dawson come down to Zim and play then we begin to ask questions to Ervine .

In the context of the article I presume his presence referred to turning out for one of the sides so in that sense he cannot 'show his face'
Zimdoggy. By all means as Zimbabwean he should and is entitled to do as he wishes and go where ever he wants in Zim. It's his home and as you say he's family is all here. As someone pointed out, it's early days before when we can start measuring the standard of our competition according to Dawson's performances. But it's worth acknowledging that Sean Ervine had it easy when he turned out in the Logan Cup, as did Compton and Horton, while the aged Andrew Hall didn't have a tough time either. On the same token it's fair to also consider that this time around Horton didn't have as good a time as Dawson in the first game, and when Sean turned out in the last T20 competition he was utter rubbish with both bat and ball, and carried on when he went back to Eng! If you ask me I'd say we are relatively competitive. The mighty Tuskers(without Horton!) would draw with and even beat Lancashire in a 4-day game. Ewing, Duffin, Craig, Coventry, Meth, Mpofu, Ncube, Dabengwa! Need I say more!
Flower power, unless Sean makes a complete break from County Cricket(except if he can get in as an overseas player), and commits to Zim FC and Int, it's best if he remains a spectator!

Some people need to sample dishes on order before they indulge i believe if Ervine can play at least a full fc season he culd consider fo Zim .or we culd ask Firdrose Mooda to hunt him down an get an exclusive from him so that everyone is clear on his position and intentions

Last I heard, Seanie was expected to turn out for Mountaineers in the T20, but wouldn't be playing in Logan Cup / Pro50.

Following Rob Nicol's stellar showing (another one by an overseas player) I hope I won't be forced to revise my position on that one
Zimdoggy!!
Speaking of Nicol, I wonder what de Grandhomme must be thinking? Kept out of Auckland's entire games in the CLT20, and consistantly overlooked for their national team, while Nicol gets a look in for the national team and now here he is playing in Zim, yet he Colin's still scratching his backside under pointless hopes of representing NZ instead of Zim!! It must be bloody Paul Strang referring to NZ as 'us' - what does he say of Zim. Very contrasting when you think of Grant and Brian on one side then consider the recent interviews of their respective brothers Andy and Paul!!

Just shows the Western world in true light, if they dont have their home comforts they cant hack it, just because they dont have there sky TV and there laptops doesnt mean you should go against a contract you have signed.
Full credit to the likes of Wheater and Horton and Weseels who have fully embraced the life style in Zimbabwe.
It was a great oppotunity for Dawson who could of been like Wheater and Horton who both had good seasons in English county cricket because of the hard work they out in over the winter playing in Zimbabwe
