I heard that PJ did not make himself available for selection. Playing as an overseas player as qualifies for Ireland in the next few months.

I don't see what he's going to achieve playing for Ireland, that he couldn't in Zim colours? will donning the green make him a better batsmen than the guy who could even make the top20 batsmen in the pro50? On current form he wouldnt even make a Zimbabwe A team! Does this mean he now has a British passport and is eligible to join a county? Is he even good enough to do so, if county cricket really is home to the "bestest" cricketers in the world as we are made to believe. He had a great start to his international career especially in tests, at one time he was an interim-captain for some reason he lost form and never got it back.
Ireland isn’t Britain.

If he becomes eligible for Ireland and holds a passport then he'd be eligible for County. He'd have to make a bag of runs to get close to a County contract because their front line batsmen in nearly all the counties are better than 99% of ours. He's a keeper batsman so has two strings to his bow. As much as that stings like buggery, those are the facts.
Please go and ask Blessing, BT or Dave Houghton to make a comparison between the standards of cricket.
We can most certainly close the gap a lot with better administration, but as it stands we are way behind. As much as you're not letting this go, neither am I.
The day it sinks in that we are way behind and that something needs to be done about it will be a good day for us.

You’re saying that going to Ireland makes him eligible for county? How?

Do you have links for the Irish stuff. Thats very very suprising that they have disciplinary issues and nepotism
Seen bits on social media, and this article alludes to it;

At least the captain and journalists are able to raise such issues there though. They’ve got a better chance of fixing things than we have here, where everyone just muddles along quietly.

A person seeking to play for a Full Member Nation(England in this case) should not have played for any other FMN for the previous four years. Ireland is an Associate Nation, hence Morgan satisfies this rule.
Further because it is still a part of United Kingdom, ECB can pick players from Ireland.

So they're now a full member so that point is not applicable, but anyone with an Irish passport seems to be able to play County as a local. Ed Byrom has an Irish passport and only recently got his English one. He played 3 years as a local on his Irish passport.

Nope, Irish lads can't play in England as local players any more. It's one of their biggest issues currently.

There may have been a grace period after they got their full member status and maybe Brexit complicated it for a while, but now they definitely can't play as locals.

Forget Irish passport ..Irish players holding uk passport also cannot play as local like Paul Stirling ...it is often said that if he challenges this ruling in court he will win it ..

Ok, didn't know that. That's good for Irish domestic cricket I guess. I'm not sure how many were actually playing county, probably about half a dozen.
