A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.

Only a matter of days now Sloan! I've kept this in mind for quite some time.sloandog wrote:I must say, he must be getting close to a re- call

Well I'll admit that I may have said a few off things in that particular post, but my philosophy is that if you work hard enough, you should get your desired result. Stuart's worked very hard obviously, and if he's scoring runs at first class level it'll be hard to ignore him i guess.
My only argument is that he's not my favourite player. I prefer Mutizwa, Ewing, Duffin, Ervine jnr etc ahead of him. But all credit to the lad, if he can do what Sibanda did I'd gladly eat my own hat

God we must be getting desperate if Matsi is in line for a recall. Perhaps David Mutendera could spearhead our bowling attack while we are at it.

It is nice Matsi has fianlly scored a List A 100 after all those tries. And a 9th FC century is also good. Now he has as many as Mutizwa, except it has taken him twice as long.
For him to get picked he has to do what any other domestic player does, score 4 or 5 hundreds in a short space of time.*
Ps Eugene, I'm glad someone has finally spoken up for Mutendera. With all the talk being Jarvis this, Vitori that he has been glaringly omitted from ZCF posts.
* - Unless one has the connections of a Cephas.
