Mr Taylor referred [Mr S] onto his agent, [Agent], although nothing arose from those discussions, other than [Agent] telling Mr Taylor not to waste his time with [Mr S] as he had a bad feeling about him.
This is beyond stupid. He went ahead with agreeing to contact them even after his agent had warned him. It is almost as if he knew what to expect and still went ahead and travelled to India, pretty much knowingly.
In his initial report to the ACU, Mr Taylor made no mention of any discussion around corruption with [Mr S] at any point during the trip although he did mention the receipt of the US$ 15,000 on each occasion he spoke to the ACU. In his initial interviews, Mr Taylor stated that the $15,000 payment was effectively a payment for his services in travelling to India, basically an appearance fee. In subsequent interviews, however, Mr Taylor changed his story and accepted that while he had initially travelled to India believing that he would be paid an appearance fee of US$15,000, at the end of his trip when the payment was actually made to him, it followed a discussion around corruption and a request for him to be involved in corrupting matches in exchange for payment, with the payment being made as a deposit for his involvement in corruption.
Approaching ICC ACU and not revealing the complete story in one go is another action of extreme stupidity.
disqualification of the individual results obtained by Mr Taylor in the Ireland v Zimbabwe ODI match played on 8 September 2021.
So, Taylor loses 49 runs from his overall ODI run tally?

Official ICC Anti-Corruption Report: https://resources.pulse.icc-cricket.com ... cation.pdf
Is this report authentic? It states that Brendan Taylor represented (and captained) Zimbabwe in 4 Tests.
Printing mistake I guess, 3 of the 34 has gone missing :)

The cocaine ban is too light for that to be the reason to risk it all. 3 months is nothing for a Zim cricket player. We were banned, barely playing any games. Something else must have happened but that doesn't matter anymore.

Even though the whole article reeks of sooky tantrum, revealing Streaks pay is crazy unprofessional and borderline (if not outright) Illegal.

You can tell Streak is living rent free in Mukhulanis head.
Cricinfo profile of the 'James Bond' of cricket:

FULL NAME: Angus James Mackay
BORN: 13 June 1967, Harare
KNOWN AS: Gus Mackay

'The' Gus Mackay.

Hero.
Sportsman.
Artist.
Player.

I think this is the most accurate portrait of events. he seems highly insecure.

Its up to zimbabwe cricket to organise fixtures pay players and liaise and organise events as well as bring on young players. This is their mandate

What is not in their mandate is to write gutter poison pen pieces on fallen legends. people will always make their own minds up about people. zimbabwe cricket admin seem hellbent on controlling the thought process on streak which is why they were probably so aggrieved with the firedoose article. I dont think anyone would complain if ZC wrote to cricinfo and said it is factually incorrect that jonathon connoly was never an under 19 captain and such and such

I wonder what happened to Liam Brickhill? He's gone quiet as a sports writer.

There's a bit of that, but there's so much mileage to be gained from pressing the point that cricket is in good hands. The Streak Taylor disaster silences ZC critics for the foreseeable future and they must milk it to death just to make sure. Its more of a victory cry.
I'm sure there's more to come.

He's still around. He wrote recently about BT, but he doesn't seem to be writing in capacity as a journalist and more as a freelancer.

This sums up everything. Even though we know what BT and Streak did is completely wrong, one thing that is the same is that they both were looking at something that they thought would help to grow the game. Again, both stupid to think they could do it the way they did, but they did what ZC should be doing but refuses to do.

You can tell that beef is personal. Extremely personal. They have actually had problems with other people like AC and even BT now but it has never seemed that personal. I wonder what really happened between the 2 of them.

If we are being honest by their standards they have given BT an extremely long rope. Even in their latest press release. They just copied and pasted points from the ICC report. For somebody who is accused of having written to the ICC during the suspension, caught in a corruption scandal, failed a drugs test and suddenly retired without warning they have barely responded. The issue between Streak and Mukuhlani is personal.

Given that both Taylor and Streak were not in good terms with the powers that be of ZC, and given that any tournament held in a country needs to be sanctioned by that country's board and ICC ACU, in what capacity did they think they were meeting these "businessmen" to plan a T20 tournament in the country? Surely, they could not have run this privately, and even if they struck a deal with these guys, they would not have been in a position to come back and work with ZC to get the necessary approvals. The more I think about it, the more stupid their approach towards this looks. Lacking prudence in matters can be devastating. The same lack of prudence that made Taylor reach out to the ICC during suspension. Intensions might be right, but decisions frought with severe errors in judgement. Even more so because they ended up giving the ZC cabal a voice and a weapon. The rest of the genuine cricketing community in the country have the right to be severely disappointed with these two. For example, it now gives ZC a free hand to, say, appoint Utseya as the head coach of the national team with no consequences (and basically do whatever they want to). Fake coaching certificates, casual race victim card usage, etc. appear like petty crime in front of what Streak and Taylor have done and ZC can easily milk this argument to shut anyone up every single time in the future.
