Yeah that's right, they actually asked the ICC to suspend them. They haven't qualified for the CT anyways and their next international assignment is in January, so perhaps they thought it's a safe time to get suspended. 🤭

Pretty sure ICC won't be as hard on them and we will see a resolution soon... I just hope the Zimbabwe series isn't impacted.

Are Ireland still touring in January? And is the one off Test still on the docket?

If not, the next ZIM tests wouldn't be until this summer vs Bangladesh...

Doesn't look like it.

There should be the postponed Afghanistan series before the Bangladesh series that will probably be played in March

Zimbabwe Tests in 2024
March: 2 v AFG (Away)
April: 2 v BAN (Away)
August: 1 v IRE (Away)
December: 2 v AFG (Home)

All subject to change of course

How great would it be to see Zimbabwe play 7 Tests in a single calendar year???

This forum's total post count would double from now to the end of 2024!

Can't see any of them happening other than Bangladesh maybe.

You surely know the afghans will find a way to cancel. But then again it's tests so that might be their only point of interest?

Idk how legit this is, but I saw an Afghan fixtures post on fb and they it didn’t mention any series of any kind vs ZIM. It wasn’t the official ACB page, more a fan site, but it sounds probable. Disappointing because ZIM need to play more Tests.

Afghanistan won't play, I'm sure. Ireland are coming for a LOI series only.

The most important thing for Zimbabwe is to qualify for the T20 WC, else we are looking at disaster. So i think right now their focus won't be on FTP or tests, they would first want to get this job done.

Don’t worry St Helena and Congo might still want to play us.

A few years ago people joked about one day having to play the likes of Nigeria and Rwanda, thinking it was unimaginable….
