Right now I'd go with;

1 Chakabva
2 Ervine
3 Williams
4 Madhevere / Madande
5 Shumba
6 Raza
7 Burl
8 Jongwe / Evans
9 Masakadza
10 Ngarava
11 Blessing

But it's good that we've got lots of senior/A fixtures lined up plus NPL - plenty of time for some of those on the fringes to get in.
I would not have Wes in my starting XI considering how annoyingly inconsistent he has been of late with bat. The whole idea of Shumba at the top is that he is an organized southpaw who also needs time (playing some dots) to get settled before firing on all Cylinders. Chakabva is a very good at milking ones and twos so I would like him to come in at number 3. You have got Ervine and Williams at number 4 and 5 if there is an early collapse. With sloggers at death overs in Raza, Burl and Jongwe,

Fair enough. Just feel a little uneasy with two inexperienced openers

Brad Evans looking the real deal with bat and ball. Surely in line for a Zim debut

Future ODI XI

Shumba
Madhevere
Myers (Surely has to come back)
Burl
?
Madande

My XI:

Chakabva (wk)
Madhevere
Ervine
Williams
Raza
Shumba
Burl
Masakadza
Nyauchi
Ngrava
Muzarabani

Plenty of bowling options in there, Masakadza is in as an allrounder, plus the 3 pacers. Evans can be the next bowler to come in. We don’t need Jongwe now that Evans is coming good.

Kaitano and Madande could be the backup batsmen/ keeper. I’d give Wes a chance first before bringing Kaitano in.

If BT is in the same frame as Hammy then he's hardly persona non grata.
Hammy did say on radio shortly after all the BT stuff came out that he's his mate and we shouldn't forget everything he did on the cricket field. Very different tone to the board and TM/GM.
Tavengwa has been reading ZCF again  https://twitter.com/FrankMawoza1/status ... 1074924544

Quick to clarify

I was thinking about the upcoming series where both the main side and a side are playing at the same time, here are the squads I have come up with:

Main
Williams (bat/BWL)
Ervine (bat)
Shumba (bat)
Chakabva (wk)
Madande (wk)
Burl (bat)
Muzarabani (BWL)
Nyauchi (BWL)
Ngrava (BWL)
Raza (bat/BWL)
Masakadza (BWL)
Madhevere (bat/BWL)
Evans (bat/BWL)
Kaitano (bat)
Jongwe (BWL)

A’ team
Phiri (bat)
Marumani (bat)
Mutombodzi (bat)
Maruma(bat)
Kasuza (bat)
Chatara (BWL)
Tiripano (Bat)
Munyonga (BWL)
Tsiga (wk)
Mutumbami (bat/wk)
Masara (BWL)
Masuku (BWL)
Ndlovu (BWL)
Mavuta (BWL)
Chivanga (BWL)

I have gone for a good mix in the ‘a’ team of young players with talent and some of the old boys to make the team competitive.

I would say the main team picks itself at the minute but I can see Chatara slipping into that main squad somehow.

Phiri has really impressed me in these three matches, look forward to seeing more of him.

Marumani and Munyonga can fill that gap, Kaitano and Masakadza are both nearly 29 so it depends on your cutoff points for the age group

Looks a solid squad though, I’m pretty happy with it.

I'd go with;

Main Squad (SA):
C Ervine (C), R Chakabva, S Williams, B Muzarabani, W Madhevere, R Burl, B Evans, S Raza, M Shumba, C Madande, T Kaitano, R Ngarava, V Nyauchi, W Masakadza, T Chatara

A Squad (Nepal):
A Ndlovu (C), B Phiri, J Campbell, M Welch, A Chibanda, T Marumani, K Maunze, B Chipungu, L Jongwe, T Musekiwa, T Munyonga, T Chivanga, J Masara, E Masuku, M Dube

No point sending the old boys anywhere.
