I understand this is very much the '2021-2022' season and that another edition 'next season' is planned again for September.

Strange collection of teams but oh well. 'Lions' are a National Academy side apparently. Interesting to see who plays where.

Likely to be 30 players away with national and A sides soon, plus a dozen or so in the UK so should be lots of opportunities for fringe and young lads to play.

And nice to see games being played at venues across the country again. Might have to go and watch one or two at Kwekwe

There are ten sides and they play Sunday and Wednesday so it's a month of cricket. Easter Sunday is an interesting day to start the comp. They didn't think that through- jammed up everybody's Easter Holidays.

I'm assuming the Vigne Cup is now postponed and will resume in a month? I'd hate to see them just shelve it.

There's something badly wrong with our cricket culture here when the franchise guys don't show much interest in the Vigne Cup and are basically told to present themselves for the NPL. The upside is that it's just more cricket which is great for the guys trying to make a name for themselves.
If Vigne Cup resumes we basically have another two months of winter cricket with no weather interruptions, which is what we should have been doing for the last 80 years.

Ya as you say, with Nepal and SA games and guys going to UK club gigs the standard of some of these club games won't be good. It doesn't matter, we need the volume and these next few weeks are going to hopefully be very busy.
