Interesting dismissal today. Given out obstructing the field - terrible umpiring. And pretty bad look for the Ugandan women to be appealing for it.

Watching a bit of the stream this morning. Nkomo looks a serious player who could get chances at a higher level, opens the bowling, bats in the middle order an is an excellent fielder.
Re: Lady Chevrons in Namibia
Lass at number 10 comes in without the helmet and Nkomo bowls a bouncer first ball love it, then she bowls her 2 balls later.

She took a worldie of a catch yesterday too. Looks like our best player

Looks like she is off to the UK to play club cricket. I think we have some decent players, Mushangwe is a good spinner who really gives it a rip and I think has been playing club cricket in Australia over the last couple of years.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 8:39 amShe took a worldie of a catch yesterday too. Big challenge will be the step up when we play matches against other full members who have a much bigger player pool.

I know it is a low bar but the improvement in terms of the resources put into the womans game in the last 18 months has been phenomenal. All credit to ZC who appear really committed to grow the womans game.
I guess the penny has dropped that if the ladies get to world tournaments it means more money and more 1st class flights for the executives

Re: Lady Chevrons in Namibia
ZC got an official telling off by the ICC around this time last year for the underinvestment in the women's game and inequality between the men and women. One of the other full member boards did too apparently - maybe Ban or SL I guess. They were 'reminded of their full member obligations to the development of women's cricket'.zimfan1 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 8:49 amI know it is a low bar but the improvement in terms of the resources put into the womans game in the last 18 months has been phenomenal. It's what makes the Afghanistan situation even more ridiculous!
