Innocent Kaia has put up some consistent performances and looks a lot solid than Marumani. The thing is I wouldn't have either in ky best XI, especially if I'm looking to play Burl. I'm talking about ODIs.

I'll much rather have Madhevere and Regis opening, or Regis and Ervine.

Regis
Madhevere
Ervine
Williams
Raza
Shumba
Burl
Evans
Wellington
Blessing
Ngarava

Jongwe, Nyauchi, I Kaia and Marumani as reserves probably.

I have concerns over Madhevere too... He fails way too often for the kind of talent and expectations people have from him. If Munyonga, Madande step up then Wes is in trouble. Myers was actually better than Wes. Such a shame he is not playing cricket.

I'm not sure Burl offers much in an ODI really. Probably still gets in the T20 first team, aye. But ODIs? Batting 7 or 8 and bowling a few overs of pies is a bit of a luxury in 50 over cricket.

My squads, as it stands today, would be;

T20 Squad:
Ervine, Marumani, Chakabva, Williams, Shumba, Madhevere, Raza, Burl, Munyonga, Masakadza, Muzarabani, Ngarava, Nyauchi, Chatara, Jongwe

ODI Squad would be minus Marumani, Munyonga and Jongwe and add Madande, Kaitano and Evans.

Yea Burl just hasn't done anything, at all.
I've been a massive advocate for him over the last 2 years or so, because he's a very talented batter, but he's been so underutilised and poorly managed in where he bats, he's just regressing.

Plus his leg spin is not all that special.
He's got the talent, but his numbers are ugly

Think your pretty spot on there, think Burl is on his last legs for ODIs, I’d say maybe leave Jongwe in if Burl keeps failing.

Kaitano will be lucky to be there, esp since I Kaia has done well.

I like Burl because leg spinners can at times get a heap of wickets and win you games. Every other spin option in Zim is left arm spin or off spin + more importantly of course is Burl being a bit of a big hitter and can be a finisher.

I'd rather have a utility player like him at 7, instead of a pure batter or pure bowler. Jongwe won't make sense because No. 7 is too high for him.

So, what ? Zim A is struggling against a side who are very much new to cricket and has no proper domestic infrastructure compared to full member test playing nation like Zimbabwe. David Houghton & Masakadza what's there role in the board ? both A team are getting thrashed
