I will leave hhm to comment on the quality of imported openers ... and FP to reveal the stats! Don't hear to much about Lovemore but he seems to take wickets

Re: Mountaineers vs Eagles
Maybe it's our administrators, but English wicketkeepers seem to have a special liking for Zim!
It could be, that there's a wicket-keeprs' club going on in County cricket so when one loser packs up, he lets the next guy know there's an opening so he can go on holiday and keep fit at the same time!
Both Mitchell & Pettini are of a mature age, and have impressive & healthy FC mileage on their backs! It's a pity they're not sharing it with the Rocks instead!
Opening, or batting at first drop is not simple. All the more reason why I rate Duffin equally&ahead of others who supposedly have a better average (gained from tired bowlers). That's why Tino has temporarily gained my respect as well. Even Bell wants to play & succeed there for an extended period so he can gain more respect.

I personally rate Vusi ahead of Hami & Taylor, whom having observed during Test, I feel would suffer if they had to open. Glad to see Bayhaus once again agrees that Vusi would get plenty of tons in position four, it's easy there. Personally, I want him in at three, because I feel the other options, unless Duffin is included, would fail as openers or get bogged down at three.Long-term Bell admits that he retains ambitions to bat at first wicket down. With an aspiration to be rated the No. 1 Test batsman, Bell feels he needs to prove himself higher up the order to silence the doubters who suggest - with ever decreasing justification - that many of his Test runs have come against tired attacks in low-pressure situations.
My goal is to bat three. I think that's where you can test yourself, and certainly there is a part of me that wants to bat there. I've had success at five, I've had success at six and I'm very happy to bat there. I'll bat wherever the team want me to bat. My long-term goal is I want to bat in the top three."

Daryll Mitchell is not a wicketkeeper. Benjamin Katsande will surely keep for the Mountaineers, he's not going to have been picked for his batting!hhm wrote:Maybe it's our administrators, but English wicketkeepers seem to have a special liking for Zim!

Re: Mountaineers vs Eagles
A good team bowling effort from Mashonas to knock over Mountaineers for just over 200. Manatsa continues to do well.
Re: Mountaineers vs Eagles
I can certainly say that I have never seen or heard of Mitchell 'keeping in any cricket. Cricinfo often gets the wicket-keeper wrong on their scorecards before changing it later!Daryll Mitchell is not a wicketkeeper. Benjamin Katsande will surely keep for the Mountaineers, he's not going to have been picked for his batting!
On a different topic, it is nice to see Ray Price back in the wickets.

What's up with excluding Kev Kasuza? I just hope he's missing out because of the English imports
On another note, this LT Gumunyu-Manatsa is doing really well. Hope he continues to do well for the Eagles and national call up could be around the corner.
KJ kinda disappoints as he failed to take any top order wickets. The other worrying thing is those no-balls.

Wow, Shingi on fire, 4-15 and counting. He's doing his chances for a ticket to NZ no harm there.
Re: Mountaineers vs Eagles
I kinda like the Mountaneers trio of Shingi, Tiripano and Chatara. They have had lots of success and are very effective.
