Not surprised one bit. Namibian team defeated ireland Netherlands Scotland recently and zimbabwe can't claim to be better than them so this is not shocking even one percent

Well I mean we beat Scotland, drew with Ireland, in their conditions. And we beat Namibia on Tuesday. Truth is these four teams are all at a very similar level at the moment. We are no better and no worse than them. It's not good enough for Zimbabwe though. Namibia get around 5% of the ICC funding we get.....

We might have managed to push them a bit closer today if Wellington, Richard and Blessing were playing maybe.

But really the batting was horrendous - that was just about the worst first 10 overs possible.

Ngarava blessing and mazakadza are bowlers and we struggling while batting. Even Namibia didn't have JJ smit who in my opinion is their best player .ireland Scotland Namibia Netherlands uae zimbabwe these teams are on similar level.

Not surprising, I agree with Tej, I'm very disappointed with this, but this feeling is now normal.

What is frustrating is that every single time Zimbabwe win a game, instead of imposing themselves on the opposition, they instead allow the opposition to run over them. That happens after every win, literally every time.

Another thing frustrating to watch is the timid approach with their bat. Against these smaller teams you should look to impose yourself, try to be dominating, not play like little kids, worse approach than associates. This once again shows Rajput is a nothing coach, I think ZC knows no one will stick around with them so they are happy with Rajput, and Rajput knows no one else will take him, so he is continuing here.

Disgusting performance.

Our 'T20 specialist coach' who was brought in to 'make Zimbabwe a giant amongst T20 sides', has been in the role for FOUR years now and yet we are worse than ever before in this format. The mind boggles. He must have some very incriminating photos or information about TM/GM. That's the only possible explanation for this potato remaining in his job.

Even during this very series, he is busy watching and tweeting about the IPL; https://twitter.com/Lalchandrajput7/sta ... 5982854144

If the director of cricket had any balls he would be firing him next week if we don't win this series. Doesn't matter if the qualifier is only a month away, Matsikenyeri couldn't possibly do any worse.

Has Klusener thought better of it and changed his mind? Appointed over two months ago and still hasn't arrived. I don't blame him.

It's the format that's the problem. We are stuck in our old ways. Our best players are not suited for this format and that is why we will always struggle in T20s. Unlike a test match where it can be decided in a session, 5 overs can decide a T20. That's what happened today. You will NEVER be a competitive T20 unit if your best players can't clear the ropes easily. Never.. you will instead have inconsistent results. Some great days like the first game or terrible days like today.

I however do not believe the likes of Nepal, Scotland or Namibia can beat us in a test series. They are far far away from that. It's just like how we can win a T20 or 2 against the bigger teams but they absolutely kill us in the tests. This is despite T20s being our weakness because all it takes is 1 inspired performance or just a good 5 over spell to win a T20.

All this does is serve notice to the people in charge from the admin to the coaches as well as the likes of Williams and Ervine, UAE 2018 can happen again in July if you come in and don't take shit seriously. You are the bigger team.. look to dominate. Overthinking things will lead you down a very dangerous path.

This is exactly how I feel. Very very timid.

We don't play enuf T20 domestically so we will never progress in this format for that reason alone. We don't have many big strong batters that look like they can smack it ten rows back either.
Also if the pitch is not a road anything over 140 is difficult to get. Good bowlers on an assisting pitch will not give u much. I would think this pitch had quite a bit in it and Wiese and Trumpleman are a world class opening pair. I'd love to have seen this game, I mean Ervine is a damned fine player and he was at sea. That may be about the worst brief innings he's ever played, and he wasn't prepared to hit because he has no confidence in the line-up.

Without Ervine and Williams any of those Assoicate sides would chew us up in a test, we are in new territory now and the ship is rudderless. I keep saying this, but there are no consequences to getting beaten and slowly getting worse.
Rajput is a clueless absentee coach. He should be fired for tweeting about IPL during our game. Not fired- taken out into the alley, thrashed and sent packing. The sad thing is that ZC dont have to justify or explain to anybody why they continue to employ him. He must have an interesting contract that enables him not to have to watch, be present or even to actually coach.
With respect to Tiripano as he generally does ok, putting him at 4 is just staggering. Somebody there doesn't like Evans. You don't have to do much here to get a game and he's performed consistently for a while, he can also bat. He should emphatically be there ahead of Jongwe, Chivanga, Chitara and perhaps even Tiripano. He's consistently been our most miserly bowler domestically and in Nepal. It stinks!! It proves that winning is not important and that developing players is of no consequence. If and when he does get a shot he's going to have to do real well because he's not going to get the several years they give to other players to play one decent game to get several more free years.

If ICC wanted to give games some meaning each team should put in 500k per game, winner takes all. We'd see Rajput in a coffin back to India and Evans opening the bowling
