Players like Ali Hamid, Matt Welch should be tried out in some emerging players series which ZC should look to organize frequently against emerging players from other countries like Afghanistan, Netherlands,Ireland. This should be looked upon as an investment in developing the team that give you better results and sponsors, bigger tours in future. If one year later you throw in these youngsters directly in international arena, they will find it difficult.
Then again, my expectations from ZC are a bit too high.

I see 2 young Blignaut brothers are trying to raise funds to go on a Zim age group tour, at least that's what's advertised.
Can anyone shed some light why they're having to raise money and why they seem to be the only two?

Probably not an officially sanctioned ZC team/tour

Maybe. I'm hoping its not a case of some having to pay their own way and others not, that's a proper button pusher for me. Epitomises everything that's wrong here.
I wonder if that's Andy Blignaut's boys or they're just related?
I see Ed Byrom is finally in the mix and had a really good innings in a losing cause. Some great shots in that highlight reel.

Ya it looks like those are Andy's boys. He was coaching at PH, but then I heard he'd moved down South? It seems his wife is a teacher at St John's. The standard tribulations of trying to make shit work here, I guess.
There will be some proper fast bowling genes in there, he's a big man and I think his missus is an athlete as well. Those boys will need to be dialing it up to 180 plus with swing seam and bounce to get a look in
