Chatara out of Qualifiers with collarbone fracture

Post by CrimsonAvenger »

Big blow when he is in form. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/zimb ... re-1324603

Tony Munyonga is the replacement. Sure we needed to get a pacer? Evans, probably? ZC being its usual self...

I thought injury replacements in ICC tournaments had to be 'like-for-like'? Why would they pick Munyonga?!? Considering Ngarava is not 100% fit I'd have thought they'd bring in Nyauchi, Chivanga, Evans, even Tiripano.

Oh well. Need Big Rich to be fit and perform well.

Chivanga, Tiripano and Mutumbami were supposedly the 'reserves' when the squad was being circulated

Ya they surely chose a 15 man squad or whatever it was for exactly this eventuality? How can you pick someone from outside of that?
Tony is a decent player, if he now gets a game ahead of Marumani that will be just plain weird.

Tough one to swallow for Larry, really some freak injuries he gets. Hope he comes back stronger, had really worked hard to get back to this level.

How did that happen? Only 2 plausible ways to get that inhured...being hit with a bouncer or hurt while diving in the field.

He'd been playing well too.

It was fielding, right near the end. He was visibly in pain and went off the field. The lesser spotted Marumani came on for him.

Ya no need to panic, sure. I prefer Ngarava anyway, but he isn't 100% fit so who knows how he will bowl. We really should have brought another seamer in as the replacement instead of Munyonga. If Rich/Blessing gets an injury now we are fucked.

Ngarava has won us a few 20 20 matches with his bowling. No need for us to panic at all
