ICC Task Force arrives in Zimbabwe

Post by Train Driver »

It seems so long ago that this was announced that i had forgotten all about it.

I'm sure that these three gentlemen are going to have an 'interesting and instructive' visit, i wonder if ZC have actually done anything in advance of this very important visit.

Its good to be back after a long time. Much as most people the world over are thinking that Test cricket is dead as only the Aus-India, Ashes series still make test cricket worthwhile, I think it would be great for us to play test matches again. Not only is it entertaining but also provides opportunities for our cricket to grow. I am hoping that Chingoka and co have prepared for this visit, much as I hate them.
Is Sean Williams back for this Sri Lanka series? We definitely need him. I hope B taylor will be back soon as well.

I'm hoping that even Chingoka can see the benefits of presenting ZC in the most positive light possible, quite how they can do it i don't know with the dreadful situation in the country as a whole.

Maybe the thought of some ICC cash may be enough to get the ZC board off their collective backsides.

Yeah I do hope so too. We seem to have good age group teams though, given our performance in South Africa early this year. I am sure the ICC realise that there is light at the end of Zim's tunnel with such performances.

There's light at the end of the tunnel, if the domestic game is run & developed properly. Problem is, that doesn't seem to be happening.

All the talent in the world won't save Zimbabwean cricket if it's not given the exposure and development it needs. Not going to happen under the current board, I'm afraid...

I'm pretty disappointed in the obvious help put forward by the Asian countries.

ZC have backed them at the ICC with their vote, for obvious reasons, and i would have thought that invitations could have been put out for a Zim side to take part in some of the Asian domestic programmes.

I know that we have had the PNCA tour, the Sri Lankan tour and now the Bangladesh/Sri Lanka invitation, but the Asian bloc could do much more to help development if they are truly friends of Zimbabwean cricket.

South Africa have found space for Zim up until this year and India invited a side to take part in the Duleep ? Trophy a couple of years ago, would it be asking too much for more of this type of assistance ?
