Lots of club cricket around currently,
Vigne 2nd League is underway in Harare. Both leagues in Bulawayo have been ongoing for the past month or two, as has the Mutare club league.
Expanded 8 team Midlands League starts this weekend with games at Mbizo, Kwekwe and Gweru today.
No sign of the Vigne 1st starting - must be after christmas.

Looks like a lot of cricket being played.
Do any of these players play Logan Cup or Pro50 cricket?

Yeah the franchise players do pop up from time to time when available in the respective provincial leagues. Especially the more fringe players.
And then almost everyone - including national players - play in the Vigne 1st League occasionally if they haven't got anything else to do.
Kiran Carlson played in the 2nd League today. Bowled by Wallace Mubaiwa - now theres a blast from the past!

Now there's a guy that would have done well in any other environment. He used to get lifts 4 times a week from 60km out of town to practice age group cricket. 120km round trip and had an incredibly tough time following his dream. He was excellent and had some proper dog fuck as a number 11 bat. Passed over because he was talent spotted by a white guy.
You can make it later on as a bowler. I have big respect for this lad.

Well it's coming with the usual caveat of we need lots more money so it's obvious.
If some truth serum had been administered it would read-
We have fucked everything up so badly that we would need zillions, but we don't have the expertise so its pointless, but send the zillions anyway and we will guarantee it disappears, this we are World Champions at.
Decades of lies and the blame game. All a smokescreen for looting.

There’s more club cricket now than probably the last 5-10 years but in reality the current amount of cricket being played at all levels is more likely about 10% of what it was at the turn of the century. These people have incredibly short memories.
Things are progressing and it’s good but there’s a hell of a long way to go. I guess the election campaigning has started already (although I expect no serious challengers this time around anyway).
