I'd love to see Ireland back playing for Zimbabwe, but I don't hold out much hope of that happening. I would think he would continue playing in England if only in minor county cricket. He would be well established in England by now.

Glad that he has been released, he was never getting a game. At least he has a chance to begin again somewhere else.

if we dont get him back, something is very wrong, even wronger than we know.

Theres a spot there in his old rocks team, just needing to be filled. Vitori cant carry them on his own. If the irishman cant get another county contract (highly unlikely) then something is wrong is he chooses a park suburban side over a first class side and the chance to be playing internationally, tests, world cups like he used too.

I no longer believe he is in our top 11, or more specifically, our top 2 pace attack, but surely hes good enough for zim A as stands and his opportunity will come again. Hes done well in middlesex 2nds...... although so did rainsford.

Its win-win if he comes home.

He can certainly have a start at Rocks. Then a season will show where he is really up to.

Not sure if he is the same old Anthony Ireland of 2007 WC times, when he looked a real exciting prospect. Surely, his return to the franchise fold would add depth. But he would certainly be way below in the current chain of exciting fast bowling talent on offer at Zim. He would have to consistently prove himself to leapfrog others.

But hey, what motivation does he have to come back and play cricket? He already has a stadium in Australia named after him, where the U19 matches are being played... ;)

He has gone back to play for Gloucestershire on loan for the rest of the season.

The move from Gloucestershire did nothing for him last season or this one really.
