Zimbabwe v Netherlands | T20 WC 2022 | Super 12 | Match Thread

Post by sam_ahm »

Right folks, important game, if Zimbabwe win this, there is a possibility of playing India in a virtual Knockout game.

Not sure if Bas De Leede will be fit to play or not, but if he misses out, then it is a big loss for the Dutch as he is their best player.

For Zimbabwe, probably Jongwe comes in for Chatara. I don't see any other change, although Munyonga for Shumba remains a possibility.

Nervous about this one. Dutch have got a lot of gnarly seasoned county pros.
Its gonna be tight but zimbabwe to prevail.

Its gonna be a tight game. Seeing as how very few teams have chased successfully, its win the toss and bat obviously. Anything north of 150 should be safe for either side.

For ZIM they have got to get at least 3 guys to fire at the same time (30+ runs) or one guy to go really big (70+) the way Shanto did for Bangladesh the previous game. Ditto for NED.

NED has some serious pace. Their bowling attack is quicker than Bangladesh (minus Taskin) or Zimbabwe's surprisingly. They have 3 guys who can clock 140, and Van Meekeran can touch 150 :o

Even Ireland has Little touching on 90 mph, and a couple others touching 140 clicks. The Irish used to just have 75 mph trundlers even 2-3 years ago.

Madhevere seems to relish that. Has gone ok against south africa and pakistan and also west indies.
Need a big one from him today

Madhevere has a very good hand-eye coooridnation which allows him to quickly get bat onto ball. That being said, he generally doesn't look like he's in full control of his shots, especially when he plays them aerially. And about 95% of his shots tend to be uppish.

He is surely out for the rest of the World Cup. Quite a dog act to be honest.

Be interesting to see how ZC responds or if they will be ok with this kind of thievery
