Has had a golden arm, has bowled clever change-ups in the death overs.
Promises a bit with the bat.

Cons
Carries too much weight which is a poor look if you're not a gun.
Rarely delivers with the bat, mostly not thinking it through, has undeniable ability.
Of late has bowled shite. Was such a tremendous athlete as a youngster, he's hardly old now and has a distinct waddle.
Can't play tricks with sponsors, particularly if you're in the national side and it's not a good look if if you get caught out. This is not a Burl boots scenario where you're asking for sponsorship and causing some embarrassment, it's you getting sponsorship and abusing it.
If that was someone else he'd be getting roasted for doing that and would have sat out. Time to level the playing field.

Lest we forget, nobody is not giving it 200%, everyone is doing their best.
BUT they need to not play on instinct, need to think things thru. They do some really stupid shit with the bat.
Madhevere's, Burl's, Chakabva's and Jongwe's wickets were
really soft dismissals today. With a weak line up they have to play some more percentage cricket.
Even Chatara, Muzarabani and Ngarava heaving away when there's still 3 overs to go is really not smart.

Burl sat out a few games after Boot Gate if I recall
yet the Puma sponsorship was grabbed.

I had always been very critical of Jongwe's lack of talent. Of late he had been doing his bit as a death bowler and lower order finisher. But context is key. Its one thing to do well vs teams like Namibia or UAE or whoever, its a different beast against Super 12 sides.

He has more 'talent' than the majority of our squad.
It's all the other stuff that has always been, and remains, his problem.

Exactly my point he “had, was, used to be”. Everything about him is past tense now. I liked him a lot especially during his U19 days and the few following years after. Anything after that it was just because we lacked any serious young talent and seamers coming up, we had Jongwe and Madxiva as our opening seamears :| but he has been this bad for years now. Taibu warned everyone and no one listened. Shumba will fall into that group soon only he has never done anything other than that match against Scotland a year or so ago.
NB His golden arm is from poor deliveries which batsman try to punish him

He's lazy, fat, obviously had those years where he had quite significant drink/drug/health problems etc. And the sponsor scam thing tells you a lot about him.

He has a lot of talent with both bat and ball. He has shown glimpses of fulfilling it which is great, although he's had a bad tournament here for sure. I'd still consider him part of the squad and hopefully the coaches can get him to lose some weight and put some more effort it.

So much potential.

He had an excellent 2021 and first half of 2022. Were you watching?

Good luck with that, I feel sometimes we deserve the beatings we get because we are too sympathetic, talking about potential and he did this 4 years ago. Jongwe shouldn’t be part of that team either as a bowler, batsman or allrounder. You guys will still call Tino Mutombodzi potential and deserves to be around the team
