[Results] ZCF Awards 2008: Best Young Player

The nominations for Best Young Player (all 21/22 years old) were:

Shingirai Masakadza
Regis Chakabva
Sean Williams
Graeme Cremer

...and the winner, with over 60% of votes cast, is Sean Williams. Sean's indecisiveness over whether to play for Zimbabwe or no blotted his record somewhat this year, but he's still one of our best batsmen and was particularly useful during the tour to Pakistan at the beginning of the year - Zim may have come away from that trip without a win, but you couldn't lay any blame on Williams' shoulders for that, with an average of 48 from the 5 ODIs. His form towards the end of the year wasn't quite so good, but he's certainly got the talent and, as long as he continues to play for the national side, will get his chance to prove his worth.
