Sir Sikandar Raza

Post by brmtaylor.com admin »

I hereby award the 3rd ZCF knighthood to Sikandar Raza.
Knighthoods are the ultimate individual honour on ZCF and are awarded to elite players after world class performances. Sikandar Raza receives his knighthood for outstanding all-round performances in the year of 2022 AD.

Sir Sikandar Raza joins Sir Graeme Cremer (2016) and Sir Brendan Taylor (2021) among the ZCF anointed greats.

Where do you believe Sir Sikandar sits in Zimbabwe Cricket history? Is he Zimbabwe's best ever all-rounder?

Absolutely well deserved for Sikki. One of the best to have played for Zimbabwe. 👏👏👏

Well deserved, of course. And as someone said, not too late to grant a knighthood for Dave :)

Heath Streak says hi :)

But yeah, Streak is head and shoulders above others, then you have to also look at Johnson, Guy Whittall and Grant Flower with the kind of opposition they faced. Raza and Williams are close to this set I guess.

Yeah, Heath is a good way ahead of Raza.

But a well deserved honour for Sikandar nonetheless.

He mentioned that the IPL was something he was keen to have on the CV. Can he even have dreamed of a ZCF knighthood?

Heath Streak was more of a bowling all rounder, definitely above Sikki but then Sikki is more of a genuine all rounder.

In my personal view, the best Zimbabwean all rounder I have seen was Neil Johnson, he played very less so obviously he doesn't get the due appreciation but for me Johnson was brilliant.

Another one who deserves a mention is Sean Ervine. He was a better cricketer than Craig (no disrespect to Craig here). Had the potential to be one of the best all rounders in the world.

“Sikandar Raza receives his knighthood for outstanding all-round performances in the year of 2022 against associates’.

Fixed the sentence.
