Hi Guys, I was just wondering if they are still enough white people in zimbabwe for the National cricket team in the future.

I was also wondering where are most of the white people based in Zimbabwe, do they mostly live in Harare and Bulawayo or are they some who live in smaller Cities such as Mutare and Kadoma?

I am originally from Pakistan but i lived in Bulawayo wen i was 11 years old until i was 13 because my dad used to work there, i remember seeing white people around in bulawayo and my best mate at the time was white but he has since moved to south africa.

I know they are not as much white people as they were before, but is there still quite a lot in the big cities such as Harare and Bulawayo?

the biggest white population of Zimbabweans is in Bulawayo which is where my own family comes from but harare also has a fair white population but this is mainly down to business men operating from the capital

in terms of cricket there are only around 10 in the FC sence but there are quite a few coming through the schools system currently but recently the younger ones have gone of to England or south Africa

in 2004 there were around 46,000 left but i reckon now its nearer 20,0000

i may be wrong so people feel free to correct me

According to the state sponsored Herald newspaper, only 1% of the population are apparantly white. Interesting as that should be about 100,000 or 120,000 if you believe no one has left the country!

Where i am in Bulawayo there are a number of Whites still here. Falcon College is still a predominantly white school with an excellent school cricket system. The fact that some White Zimbabweans have left the country is irrelivant, as if they ever wish to play for zimbabwe in the future they can do.

I only survive here as i work over the internet for my parents who are in England. Im fortunate to have a generator to keep me with power, otherwise i wouldnt be able to to work. I see lots of fellow whites around Bulawayo everyday, and my whole friend base are white. The problem is jobs arent there, so unless the whites have some sort of support from the outside there is no ppoint being here!

I love it though, its a great country on the outside, just some major racsist failing on the in. Its safe to travel here however contrary to studies or news reports.

Hopefully many whites will return in the future. Once Zimbabwe improves at least some will return to their homeland.

I also do hope that some of the former white players also return to Zimbabwe and return to the team.Over ambitious thinking for me I think as it's very unlikely right now!But hope...

The BBC News report on Zimbabwe officially allowing the use of the US Currency interviewed people at a Harare supermarkert. There were a number of whites being interviewed or shopping in the background.

This is a good news!It's really good that there are still a number of white people in Zimbabwe.I hope that the white Zimbabweans who are currently living in foreign countries will return again to Zimbabwe.
