2023 WCQ | non-Zimbabwe matches

Post by Kriterion_BD »

Next up are SL vs UAE and Ireland vs Oman.

Would be fun to see SL lose. Hoping to see some fireworks from Harry Tector!

To me I find this tournament much more fascinating than the actual World Cup.

I agree. It’s because of the nature of the tournament and the stakes.

Sri Lanka off to a good start v UAE, I feel like they will be ultra professional through this tournament and could go through undefeated.

Ireland have made the interesting choice to open with Andy McBrine, he scored 20 off 28 before being dismissed. Smart idea by Ireland as this allows them to play an extra bowler and won’t have to rely on Dockrell for overs.

The 5th bowler has been an issue for the Irish recently so this could end up being a master stroke if McBrine can get them off to a few good starts.

Judging by the way oman batted against zimbabwe they should be more than confident of pulling off this chase

One great thing about this tournament is the opportunity to see two famous Zimbabwean cricket grounds on tv, Takashinga and BAC. I'm not sure I've ever seen either before, BAC of particular interest as it did host a test match in 1992.
