Taibu's actually had some impressive bowling spells in domestic cricket - he was a regular bowler in the National League a few years back & was near the top of the averages - although National League is hardly top-flight opposition. He just doesn't usually get the chance if he's 'keeping...

Well, Cremer is making sure that if he is not selected as the 3rd spinner he will be selected as a batsman! By my reckoning his one-day batting average is now hovering a bit above 31. Not to mention his one-day bowling average, around 18!

Coventry coming to some good form now, Vermeulen steady without really dominating yet. Needs a big half century to get the ball rolling a bit. Takarusenga is improving as the tournament goes on - he has expressed that he sees his role as an opener to stay out there and take the shine off the ball, thus making it easier for the other batsmen to play their shots when they come to the crease. With the exception of the duck in the first game, he has been doing his job well and his innings have been paced - 29, 21, 40. Like Vermeulen, he needs to make a big score. If he can make 70 or 80 odd (or more), he will throw himself into contention the next time the selectors are picking a Select squad or a Zimbabwe A squad.

Price up the order as a pinch hitter - interesting. Not the first time it has happened at domestic level, and 22 off 12 suggests it might not be the last.
Just to keep everyone updated - I was going to post a new interview on brmtaylor.com a couple of days ago, but with the great amount of news coming out of Zimbabwe due to the Faithwear series I thought it would be best to wait until the conclusion of the series.
